Original job description

Our client, an Ontario-based biotech startup focusing on advancing sustainable agriculture and farming practices, is seeking

a commercially minded digital growth leader to turn our existing e-commerce channels and digital platforms into a scalable revenue engine.

The Director, E-commerce & Digital Growth will own the performance of our direct-to-consumer websites, online marketplaces and B2B Partner Portal. This person will be accountable for growing revenue, improving profitability, acquiring customers and generating qualified commercial opportunities for our sales and distribution partners.

This is not a traditional brand-marketing or website-management role. It is a hands-on commercial position for someone who understands how performance marketing, e-commerce, CRM, customer experience and analytics work together to drive measurable growth.

What You'll Do

Own E-commerce and Marketplace Growth

Lead the growth of Indogulf’s direct-to-consumer websites, Amazon presence and other relevant marketplaces.
Develop strategies to increase revenue, conversion rates, average order value and repeat purchasing.
Manage digital merchandising, product launches, promotions, pricing and customer journeys.
Identify and evaluate new marketplaces, digital channels and commercial opportunities.
Monitor channel profitability and recommend actions based on revenue, margin and customer data.

Drive Digital Customer Acquisition

Develop and execute acquisition strategies across paid search, paid social, Amazon advertising, SEO, email, retargeting and other relevant channels.
Test campaigns, audiences, landing pages, product content and promotional offers.
Improve customer acquisition cost, return on advertising spend and conversion performance.
Manage external agencies, freelancers, technology platforms and other partners where required.
Ensure marketing activities produce measurable commercial results rather than awareness alone.

Grow the B2B Partner Portal

Lead the commercial growth and adoption of Indogulf’s B2B Partner Portal.
Develop digital campaigns to attract retailers, dealers, distributors, garden centres, growers and other commercial customers.
Improve business-account registration, onboarding, activation and repeat ordering.
Generate and qualify commercial inquiries for the sales, retail and distribution teams.
Establish clear lead-management and handoff processes with internal and external business development partners.
Use portal and customer data to increase case, pallet and recurring-volume orders.

Build CRM, Retention and Analytics Capabilities

Develop CRM and marketing-automation programs supporting acquisition, onboarding, retention and reordering.
Build customer segmentation, email journeys and lifecycle campaigns.
Improve integration among e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, the Partner Portal and digital marketing activities.
Establish dashboards covering revenue, gross margin, traffic, conversion, CAC, ROAS, AOV, retention and customer lifetime value.
Translate customer and transaction data into practical growth opportunities and priorities.

Lead the Digital Growth Function

Develop the digital commerce strategy, annual operating plan, budget and performance targets.
Work closely with sales, retail, operations, technical, regulatory and leadership teams.
Build effective processes and supporting resources as the business grows.
Provide regular reporting, insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
Remain close to execution and step directly into priority initiatives when required.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

7+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital commerce, growth marketing or a related commercial role.
Demonstrated ownership of online revenue, digital P&L or other measurable commercial outcomes.
Experience in agriculture, biological products, lawn and garden, horticulture, home improvement, consumer products or specialty retail.
A strong record of growing e-commerce revenue and improving channel profitability.
Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms and major online marketplaces, including Amazon.
Strong knowledge of performance marketing, paid acquisition, SEO, email, CRM and conversion optimization.
Experience improving customer acquisition, repeat purchasing, retention and lifetime value.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with revenue, gross margin, CAC, ROAS, AOV and conversion data.
Experience building new programs, processes or channels from the ground up.
Ability to think strategically while remaining directly involved in execution.
Strong ownership, communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Digital gross margin and channel profitability.
Customer acquisition cost and return on advertising spend.
Website and marketplace conversion rates.
Average order value, repeat purchasing and customer retention.
Growth in registered and actively purchasing Partner Portal accounts.
Volume and quality of B2B inquiries generated for sales and distribution partners.
Growth in case, pallet and recurring-volume orders.
Quality and reliability of digital reporting, forecasting and performance insights.
