Original job description

Talent Harbour is building a different kind of recruitment business.

We are an operator-led talent platform with ambitious plans to grow across Canada and the U.S., both organically and through acquisition. Our leadership team includes experienced entrepreneurs who have built and scaled some of Canada’s fastest-growing companies.

We work with organizations ranging from founder-led businesses to major enterprises, helping them hire the people they need to grow and perform. Depending on the client and search, our recruitment work is delivered on either a retained or contingent basis.

We’re looking for an experienced recruiter who wants more than a traditional desk. This is an opportunity to help grow a practice, build strong client relationships, and contribute to an ambitious business as we scale.

THE ROLE

This is a senior, client-facing recruitment position where you will have access to established business from the beginning.

You won't be expected to build everything from scratch. You'll step into existing client relationships that you can manage, strengthen, and grow while developing new business over time.

You'll lead full-cycle searches across Sales, HR, Executive and C-Suite, Operations, Finance, and Engineering, recruiting for positions ranging from mid-level professionals through VP and C-suite leadership.

As you grow your desk and client portfolio, you'll be rewarded directly for the results you produce.

If you're ambitious, accountable, commercially minded, and looking for a company that will invest in your development, this could be the right opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Manage full-cycle recruitment searches across Sales, HR, Executive and C-Suite, Operations, Finance, and Engineering.
Take ownership of existing client accounts and expand those relationships over time.
Generate new business through outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
Build strong pipelines of qualified candidates through proactive sourcing and market mapping.
Incorporate AI and recruitment technology into your workflow to increase efficiency and improve client outcomes.
Deliver against monthly and quarterly billing expectations with clear visibility into your performance.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A minimum of three years of full-cycle agency recruitment experience. This is a firm requirement.
A proven billing track record that you are comfortable discussing openly.
Experience successfully placing mid-level, senior, and executive professionals across multiple industries.
Current, hands-on use of AI tools within your recruitment process.
Strong proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and applicant tracking systems.
You must live in Metro Vancouver and be able to commute to the Burnaby or Port Moody area.
This position is primarily office-based, although hybrid flexibility may be considered for the right candidate.
Strong personal accountability and the ability to perform at a high level without being closely managed.

WHY JOIN TALENT HARBOUR?

Experienced entrepreneurial leadership: Work alongside award-winning entrepreneurs who have successfully scaled some of Canada's fastest-growing businesses, with access to meaningful mentorship.
Significant growth ahead: We're expanding organically and through acquisition, creating opportunities for people who join us at this stage.
Existing business from day one: You'll have established client relationships to build from rather than starting with an entirely cold desk.
Uncapped earning potential: Our compensation structure is designed to reward performance without limiting your upside.
An AI-forward environment: We invest in technology that helps our recruiters work more efficiently, deliver stronger results, and increase their billings.
A high-performance culture: Expect strong standards, personal ownership, accountability, and meaningful opportunities for those who perform.
Opportunity to move into leadership: As Talent Harbour expands nationally, there will be opportunities for strong performers to take on larger leadership responsibilities.

WHEN YOU APPLY

Please be prepared to discuss:

How many years of agency recruitment experience you have.
Your average number of placements per month in your most recent position.
Your average annual billing over the past 12 months.
How you're currently incorporating AI into your recruitment process.

If this opportunity isn't right for you but you know an experienced recruiter who may be a strong fit, we'd appreciate an introduction.

COMPENSATION

$60,000–$150,000

We offer two compensation options based on your experience and preferred structure:

Base salary plus commission, with no cap on commissions.
Commission-only with draw options, at an industry-leading rate, designed for experienced billers who want maximum earning potential without a ceiling.
Top billers have the ability to earn over $250,000+.

Your compensation structure will be determined based on your experience and billing track record. High performers have significant earning potential, with no cap on commissions.
