BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD

Calgary, Alberta

$100,000–$120,000 + bonus, depending on experience

The Company

Our client is an established company within the AEC industry with well-established roots and strong relationships across a variety of sectors. As the company continues its recent penetration of the Calgary market and continues to grow, they are looking for a highly motivated and relationship-driven professional to help expand their presence into new markets, develop new opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships.

The company values long-term relationships, entrepreneurial thinking and a proactive approach to business development. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in the market, building connections and turning relationships into meaningful business opportunities within the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry.

Working closely with senior leadership and project teams, you will help identify target markets and clients, develop strategies, lead proposal efforts and coordinate submissions, presentations and interviews.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable managing the details of a complex proposal and getting out into the market to build relationships, identify opportunities and develop new business.

THE ROLE

In this role as a Business Development Lead, you will have astrong background in proposals and have been previously active involved in developing new business relationships and opportunities.

Working closely with senior leadership and project teams, you will help identify target markets and clients, develop pursuit strategies, lead proposal efforts and coordinate submissions, presentations and interviews.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, industry contacts and potential partners.
Identify new markets, clients, projects and business opportunities throughout Calgary and Western Canada.
Lead and coordinate proposal and pursuit efforts from opportunity identification through submission.
Develop pursuit strategies, positioning and key messaging for priority opportunities.
Monitor industry activity, procurement opportunities and competitive developments.
Build and maintain an active business development and opportunity pipeline.
Work with leadership to evaluate opportunities and determine where to focus business development efforts.
Assist with presentations, interviews, client meetings and other business development activities.
Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline information and provide regular updates to leadership.

What’s Required

5+ years of experience in business development, proposals, pursuits or a related professional-services environment.
Experience within the AEC industry is strongly preferred.
Strong proposal management experience, including leading complex submissions and coordinating multiple contributors.
Established relationships and knowledge of the Calgary AEC industry
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
Strong understanding of RFP/RFQ processes and competitive pursuits.
Excellent communication, presentation, writing and negotiation skills.
Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable working with senior leadership.
