You'll be joining a collaborative team where your technical expertise, ideas, and contributions are genuinely valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on electrical distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, fire alarm, and life-safety systems.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial assessment and design through construction administration and completion.
  • Prepare electrical drawings, technical specifications, feasibility studies, design reports, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site investigations, building assessments, and construction field reviews.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated solutions.
  • Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address technical requirements and project challenges.
  • Support project planning, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and technical quality reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Contribute to proposals, engineering best practices, and the continued development of the electrical practice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical building systems design within an engineering consulting environment.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, residential, or building renovation and retrofit projects.
  • P.Eng designation in Ontario, or actively working toward registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit and BIM experience are considered assets.
  • Experience producing electrical drawings, specifications, technical reports, and construction documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in developing project management, client relationship, and leadership capabilities.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation.

What's in It for You?

  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary of $80,000–$105,000, depending on experience .
  • Career Progression: A genuine opportunity to move into project leadership and take on greater responsibilities.
  • Project Ownership: More involvement in client relationships, technical decisions, and project delivery.
