We’re seeking a driven, solutions-oriented Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction, municipal infrastructure, and subdivision development. You’ll play a key role in leading project teams, managing client relationships, driving financial performance, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The Role

You’ll have the autonomy to make informed decisions, resolve issues, and keep projects moving forward while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead project delivery: Review drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and construction plans before mobilization to ensure projects are properly prepared for execution.
- Manage schedules and milestones: Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and implement adjustments to maintain alignment with contractual deadlines and client expectations.
- Drive financial performance: Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, progress billings, and financial reporting in collaboration with site teams and accounting.
- Oversee contracts and commercial matters: Manage contractual obligations, review payment applications, address claims, and resolve commercial issues in the best interests of the project.
- Coordinate project stakeholders: Maintain proactive communication with owners, consultants, contract administrators, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Manage project documentation: Oversee shop drawings, submissions, progress certificates, project records, and other required documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support technical problem-solving: Work collaboratively with site personnel and design teams to resolve construction challenges, address design issues, and minimize project delays.
- Lead and develop project teams: Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to Project Coordinators while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain quality and safety standards: Ensure project activities comply with applicable safety requirements, quality expectations, contractual obligations, and industry best practices.
- Drive successful project closeout: Oversee final documentation, outstanding contractual items, project assessments, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related construction discipline; equivalent post-secondary construction education will also be considered.
- 8–10 years of experience in construction project management, preferably within heavy civil infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge of watermain and sewer systems, earthworks, roadworks, and bridge-related construction.
- Experience with design-build or alternative project delivery models is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, project controls, scheduling, cost management, progress billing, and claims administration.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions, and resolve issues in a demanding project environment.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build relationships across project teams and mentor developing professionals.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and participate in regular site visits as required.
