Site Superintendent – Science & Technology Construction

A well-established General Contractor specializing in science, technology, laboratory, and specialized commercial construction is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-to-senior level Site Superintendent with a strong background managing complex construction projects from mobilization through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, coordinating trades and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on science, technology, laboratory, or other technically complex commercial projects. Experience with projects in the $3M–$5M+ range is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee all day-to-day site operations from mobilization through project completion
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, materials, deliveries, and site activities
Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager
Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling, quality, and site issues
Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, building codes, and project requirements
Maintain high standards for site safety, quality control, and site organization
Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
Review construction activities and ensure work is progressing according to schedule
Identify potential issues and implement practical solutions to keep projects moving
Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, trades, and clients throughout the construction process
Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and records

Qualifications

10+ years of construction experience, including significant experience as a Site Superintendent
Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, science, technology, laboratory, or technically complex construction projects
Experience managing projects in the $3M–$5M+ range
Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and site coordination
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety requirements, and quality control
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required
