Our client, an established Canadian manufacturer in the Niagara Region, is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to support continued business growth across Ontario and North America.

This opportunity is suited to a sales professional who understands manufacturing environments and enjoys developing new business, opening new accounts, and building long-term relationships with technical and operational decision makers.

The Technical Sales Representative will focus on identifying new opportunities while developing existing customer relationships. Working closely with internal engineering, operations, estimating, and production teams, this individual will help translate customer requirements into commercially viable manufacturing solutions.

The Role

Develop new business across targeted industrial and manufacturing markets.
Prospect and identify potential customers through outbound sales, networking, referrals, industry contacts, and market research.
Build relationships with engineering, purchasing, operations, supply chain, and senior leadership contacts.
Manage opportunities from initial prospecting and technical discussions through RFQ, quotation, negotiation, and order placement.
Grow existing accounts by identifying additional applications and business opportunities.
Conduct customer visits and maintain regular communication with key accounts.
Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities and provide accurate sales forecasts.
Review customer requirements, specifications, drawings, and RFQs alongside internal technical teams.
Work with engineering, estimating, and operations to determine appropriate manufacturing solutions.
Understand customer expectations related to pricing, lead times, quality, capacity, and delivery.
Participate in quoting and commercial negotiations.
Gather market intelligence and communicate customer feedback to internal leadership.
Maintain accurate customer, prospect, and opportunity information within the CRM.
Support revenue, margin, customer acquisition, and account growth targets.

What We’re Looking For

Proven B2B sales experience within manufacturing, industrial products, engineered products, machining, metal fabrication, or a related technical environment.
Demonstrated success developing new accounts and generating new business.
Strong business development skills with a hunter mentality.
Ability to build relationships with both technical and commercial decision makers.
Comfortable discussing manufacturing processes and customer requirements with engineers and operations professionals.
Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Commercial understanding of pricing, margins, quotations, and sales cycles.
Organized and comfortable managing multiple opportunities through a CRM.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal technical teams.
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Strong Assets

Experience selling custom-manufactured components, machining services, engineered products, industrial equipment, or similar solutions.
Previous exposure to CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and materials.
Technical background in machining, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related area.
Existing relationships within industrial or advanced manufacturing markets.
Experience managing longer, technical B2B sales cycles.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a business developer rather than an order taker. You enjoy identifying companies with a problem your organization is equipped to solve, finding the right decision makers, and developing the relationship from the first conversation through to an ongoing customer account.

You are comfortable speaking with an engineer about a technical requirement in one meeting and discussing pricing, timelines, and commercial terms with purchasing or senior management in the next.

You do not need to come from one specific manufacturing discipline. A strong combination of technical aptitude, manufacturing exposure, business development ability, and proven B2B sales success is more important.
