Data Engineer - Vancouver BC
Level: Senior Consultant
Start Date: Sept. 21
Duration: 6 months
Hours: Full-time 40/hrs /week
Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite in Vancouver, BC
Travel - N/A
Languages: English
Rate: $70-90/hr estimate
Must-have
- insurance experience is a firm requirement, particularly direct experience with policy and claims data
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks
- Azure data engineering experience
- Strong SQL and Python/PySpark skills
- Experience building production-grade data pipelines and lakehouse architectures
Preferred
- Insurance or financial services experience
- Experience across both Fabric and Databricks
- Experience with agentic engineering or AI-assisted software delivery
You must currently reside in the Vancouver BC area

Responsibilities
Build production-grade data pipelines and lakehouse architectures using Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks in an Azure data engineering environment. Work with insurance policy and claims data.
Requirements
Must have direct insurance experience, particularly with policy and claims data, along with hands-on Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks experience. Strong Azure data engineering, SQL, and Python/PySpark skills are required; candidates must currently reside in the Vancouver, BC area.
