Job title: Business Development Representative

Ready to open doors for a company that's changing what's on the plate? We're looking for a Business Development Representative to drive new B2B growth for a fast-growing FMCG manufacturer.You'll be the front line of growth: finding and qualifying new customers, running product demos, and supporting the sales cycle from first contact to close, working side by side with the sales and Technical Sales teams. This is a hybrid, full-time role based in Calgary, with a lean, ambitious team where everyone wears multiple hats and sees the impact of their work. Business Development Representative Responsibilities

Identify, research, and qualify prospective customers across food and beverage, ingredients, natural and organic, and plant-based CPG segments.
Run outbound outreach by email, phone, LinkedIn, and at industry events and trade shows.
Build and maintain an organized pipeline in Salesforce or Dynamics 365.
Manage distributor and broker relationships and help partners open new accounts.
Deliver product presentations and demos showing the features, benefits, and applications of textured plant proteins to customers worldwide.
Respond to inbound inquiries and prepare quotes, samples, sell sheets, and promotional materials.
Support private label and OEM product development opportunities with the manufacturing team.
Partner with Technical Sales on trial runs and applications support, turning food science into commercial wins.
Work with marketing on content such as social media posts, product usage ideas, and sell sheets.
Keep CRM records and customer files accurate and contribute to monthly sales forecasts and KPI/ROI reporting.

Business Development Representative Qualifications

1–3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role
Background in food science, chemistry, or a related technical field is an asset
Food and beverage, ingredients, or CPG experience is a strong asset
Strong communication and influencing skills with both technical and commercial audiences
Highly organized with excellent follow-through; you keep a clean CRM and never let a lead go cold
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable with ambiguity and helping build processes
Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce or Dynamics 365), Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, and sales enablement tools
A real interest in plant-based foods and sustainability
Able to travel occasionally for trade shows and customer visits
Experience working with brokers, distributors, or ingredient manufacturers is an asset
Familiarity with trade spend, retail listings, or private label development is an asset
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset for national accounts
Ability to provide 2–3 professional references

Employment Details

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, hybrid (in-office and remote), with occasional travel
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Base salary: $60,000 – $70,000
