SolidWorks Drafter in
Guelph, Ontario for one of our valued manufacturing partners.
If you’re a detail-oriented Drafter with strong SolidWorks skills and experience interpreting construction blueprints, this is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering and manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will provide technical drafting support, prepare engineered drawings and shop drawing packages for submission and fabrication, and maintain accurate technical documentation throughout the engineering process.
Schedule: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. | 30-minute unpaid lunch | Overtime may be required during busy periods
What’s In It For You
- The typical hiring range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year and is specific to candidates located in Ontario. The salary will be determined based on your knowledge, skills, experience, and competencies, and you’ll have room to grow after you join! SolidWorks Drafter Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprint drawings and technical documentation
- Review technical details to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements
- Prepare detailed shop drawings for submission and fabrication
- Provide technical drafting support to the Engineering team
- Maintain registry documents and engineering records
- Maintain accurate technical information in accordance with internal design and drafting principles and practices
- Collaborate with Engineering and other internal teams to support project requirements
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and competing demands in a dynamic environment
- Support documentation and record-keeping requirements throughout the engineering and fabrication process
SolidWorks Drafter Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related program
- Proven proficiency with SolidWorks required
- Experience reading and interpreting construction blueprints
- Previous experience in a related engineering, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred
- Eligible for registration with OACETT or willingness to pursue registration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and database systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
