Senior Solutions Architect

Taleo is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to support a client in the utilities sector with several significant infrastructure modernization and technology transformation initiatives.

This role will play a key part in developing the organization's Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture, supporting data centre strategy, and designing secure, resilient enterprise technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in enterprise and infrastructure architecture, with hands-on experience designing Disaster Recovery solutions and supporting complex technology environments. As many of these initiatives are in their early stages, we're looking for someone who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking the right questions, and taking ownership of architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and solution design for Disaster Recovery initiatives, including the development of DR strategies, plans, and supporting technical architectures.
• Support the development and modernization of the organization's data centre strategy and infrastructure architecture.
• Define target-state architectures that align with enterprise technology standards, business objectives, and long-term modernization plans.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available enterprise technology solutions.
• Assess existing infrastructure, application dependencies, asset criticality, and recovery requirements to inform architectural decisions.
• Develop solution, integration, application, data, security, infrastructure, and deployment architectures.
• Evaluate technology options, identify architectural gaps, and provide recommendations to support technical and investment decisions.
• Work closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, business, and project teams to ensure solutions meet operational and technical requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical workshops, solution assessments, and design discussions with stakeholders and vendors.
• Identify architectural risks, technical debt, integration challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout planning, design, implementation, testing, and transition to operations.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, roadmaps, and solution diagrams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in solution architecture, infrastructure architecture, application architecture, or related technical leadership roles.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and delivering complex enterprise technology solutions.
• Strong experience with Disaster Recovery architecture, planning, and solution design.
• Extensive knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, data centre environments, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Experience developing target-state architectures and supporting large-scale technology transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of cloud, infrastructure, integration, data, application, and cybersecurity architecture.
• Experience assessing system dependencies, critical infrastructure, availability requirements, and recovery capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical solutions, identify risks, and make informed architectural recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, take initiative, and drive architectural decisions in evolving project environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in utilities, energy, electrical transmission, distribution, or other critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience developing or modernizing enterprise Disaster Recovery programs.
• Experience with data centre transformation, infrastructure lifecycle management, and cloud strategy.
• Familiarity with highly regulated environments and architecture standards supporting high-reliability operations.
• Experience integrating enterprise IT environments with Operational Technology (OT) systems.
