Original job description

Trailer Technician (Heavy-Duty Fleet) | $3,000 Sign-On Bonus | Day Shift | Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC

Your next shop should invest in you as much as you invest in your tools.

Many shops talk about career growth. This one backs it up.

Our client is one of the largest integrated transportation and logistics providers in North America and has been operating for more than 50 years. It runs over 4,000 trucks, trailers and containers across 11 terminals, and the fleet is still growing. That scale means steady, varied work that keeps your skills sharp.

You’ll join a clean, modern, team-oriented shop that runs on state-of-the-art equipment and software. You’ll work alongside a Service Writer and a crew of technicians who hold themselves to a higher repair standard. Your work directly affects safety and keeps customers’ freight moving.

Why this opportunity is different

  • Stability at scale: a Canadian-owned carrier with five decades in business and a growing fleet
  • Career progression: support for national tractor and trailer apprentice certification, 25–40 hours of training a year, and education reimbursement
  • Team environment: a shop built on teamwork, safety, accountability and respect
  • Real ownership: you diagnose what you find during inspections and decide on the right repair, instead of just working down a ticket list
  • Earnings upside: shift and skill-based hourly premiums, a sign-on bonus and an RRSP with company match

What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping the trailer fleet safe and compliant through preventive maintenance, inspections and wheel re-torques
  • Diagnosing issues found during inspections and making the correct repair quickly
  • Doing minor structural, panel and scuff liner repairs with torch and welding skills
  • Brake, tire, wheel-end, suspension and wheel seal repairs
  • Troubleshooting and resolving ABS faults
  • Working with the Service Writer and the technician team to finish repairs on time

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience as a mobile or trailer technician
  • A valid licence, as required for the role
  • Ability to obtain CVIP certification
  • Hands-on skill in PMs, inspections, brakes, tires, wheel-ends, suspension, wheel seals and ABS diagnostics
  • Torch and welding ability, plus working knowledge of structural repairs
  • Solid safe shop practices
  • Journeyman status or a safety inspection certificate is an asset
  • A team-first attitude, sharp diagnostic instincts, and pride in getting the repair right the first time

Compensation and benefits

Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during screening. The package includes:

  • $3,000 sign-on bonus program (terms and conditions apply)
  • Shift and skill-based hourly premiums
  • $500 tool and PPE allowance, plus a $300 boot allowance
  • Comprehensive group health benefits
  • RRSP with company match
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • Referral bonus program

Work model: On-site, full-time, day shift

Location: Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec (Greater Montreal)
