Original job description

Truck Technician (Heavy Duty, Multi-Brand Fleet) | Monday to Friday Days | Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC

This role may also be known as:

Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic
Truck and Transport Mechanic
Fleet Maintenance Technician
Diesel Truck Technician

Why You’ll Want This One

Straight Monday to Friday days, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no nights and no weekends.
Real variety across Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, Kenworth, International and Freightliner.
A Canadian-owned carrier with more than 50 years of stability behind it.

What If Your Next Shop Actually Valued Your Diagnostics?

Plenty of shops will keep you busy. Fewer will hand you a large, multi-brand fleet and trust you to find the real problem, fix it right, and get the truck back on the road. This is that shop.

You’ll be joining the maintenance team of one of Canada’s largest Canadian-owned transportation and logistics carriers. They run 11 terminals across North America and more than 4,000 trucks, trailers and containers, and they have been doing it for over 50 years. Here, the drivers come first, and the technicians who keep them rolling are a big part of why the operation works.

The schedule is something technicians rarely get: a steady day shift, Monday to Friday, home every evening and every weekend. The company also invests in its people, with training, tuition reimbursement, an RRSP match and annual performance incentives.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

Variety is part of the job. You’ll move between six major OEMs and between PMs and major engine, electrical and drivetrain work, so you keep growing instead of repeating the same repair.
Leadership is close. You report directly to the Shop Manager and work hand in hand with the Service Writer, so your diagnosis drives the fix.
The team is real. You’ll work side by side with experienced technicians in a team-first shop that runs recognition programs, safety awards and years-of-service awards.
There is a path forward. Partnered training programs and tuition reimbursement support you in building your tickets, including Red Seal.
Stability comes with it. A 50-plus-year Canadian company with a large fleet means steady work, comprehensive benefits and an RRSP match.

What You’ll Be Doing

Keeping the fleet safe and on the road through PMs, light services and inspections.
Diagnosing faults found during inspections and prescribing the right fix the first time.
Completing major repairs on chassis, cab, axles, suspension, engine, electrical and drivetrain components.
Supporting Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, Kenworth, International and Freightliner units.
Partnering with the Service Writer and fellow technicians to turn trucks around efficiently, so drivers meet their targets and get home on time.

What We’re Looking For

A DEP in heavy road vehicle mechanics, with 5 to 7 years of licensed truck technician experience.
A 310T licence.
The ability to obtain CVIP certification, which is mandatory. Prior safety inspection experience is an asset.
Red Seal certification is a strong advantage, and Red Seal technicians will be given priority.
Proven diagnostic skills across engine, electrical and drivetrain systems.
Strong time management and pride in getting it right the first time.
A team player who communicates clearly with the Service Writer and the Shop Manager.

Compensation & Work Model

Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process.
The role includes annual performance incentives, comprehensive group health benefits, an RRSP company match, a referral bonus program, an employee and family assistance program, and corporate discounts.
This is a full-time, permanent, onsite position.

Location & Travel

The shop is located at 2351 Rue Henry-Ford, Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC, in Montreal West.
The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
