The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical scope of major new-build projects, working closely with site teams, consultants, subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
About the Company
My client is a well-established, full-service mechanical contractor with more than 40 years of experience operating across British Columbia. They have built a strong reputation for delivering technically complex projects across a diverse range of sectors, including high-rise residential, P3 design-build, commercial, institutional, and large-scale ICI new builds.
With a strong pipeline of work and an established project team, this is an excellent opportunity to join an organization that offers long-term stability, a collaborative working environment, and the opportunity to work on significant projects across the Lower Mainland.

- Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from pre-construction and planning through to commissioning, completion and close-out.

- Oversee contracts, change orders and commercial documentation, ensuring changes are accurately priced, approved and incorporated into project plans.
- Coordinate RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, procurement and other project documentation.
- Work closely with General Contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to maintain clear communication and accountability.
- Coordinate with other MEP trades to ensure mechanical systems are properly integrated with the wider project.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues and ensure work meets project requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential delays, cost overruns and technical challenges.
- Support estimating, take-offs, tender preparation and bidding activities for future projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Project Coordinators and junior Project Managers, supporting the development of the wider team.
- Carry out other project management duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the North American construction industry.
- Ideally 5–10 years of relevant experience within mechanical construction.
- Proven experience delivering complex new-build projects across commercial, institutional, high-rise or similar sectors.
- Experience delivering at least one new-build project valued at $30M+.
- Previous experience with a full-service mechanical contractor is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction, project scheduling, cost control and contract administration.
- Mechanical trade, diploma or post-secondary education is an asset but not essential.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and stakeholder-management skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to manage budgets, assess project risks and maintain overall project performance.
- Comfortable working closely with site teams and undertaking regular site visits.
