At TC Energy, we are proud to connect the world to the energy it needs. Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.

Join us. Connect to what matters.

The Opportunity

Our HR Talent team is looking to add an experienced Talent Leader in Calgary, AB or Houston, TX to build leader capability across the enterprise so teams perform and deliver results.

We are seeking a visionary and outcomes-driven Manager, Leader Capability with knowledge and experience in designing and delivering enterprise leadership development, leader onboarding, leader effectiveness, and coaching strategy. This individual will own TC Energy's Leader Capability strategy end-to-end - establishing clear leadership expectations and weaving together development experiences, coaching, talent practices, and in-the-flow learning so that our leaders consistently create the conditions for performance, engagement, and belonging.

What You'll Do

  • Own the enterprise Leader Capability strategy, functional plan, roadmap, outcomes and measures, ensuring alignment to TC Energy's HR Strategic Pillars, particularly Develop Great Leaders.
  • Establish an integrated approach that connects leadership expectations, development experiences, coaching, talent practices, and learning through everyday work - so leaders are built through real work, not only formal programs.
  • Lead the strategy and continuous evolution of leader onboarding, leadership development, leader effectiveness, leader learning pathways and coaching programs across TC Energy.
  • Connect leadership development explicitly to business and talent outcomes, using performance, succession and other talent practices as development opportunities for leaders.
  • Set enterprise standards, governance, decision rights and ownership boundaries across Talent, HR and the business to ensure consistent, accountable delivery.
  • Use data, insight and stakeholder feedback to assess leader effectiveness, demonstrate impact, and continuously improve the Leader Capability portfolio.
  • Lead and develop the Leader Capability team, set priorities, allocate resources and deliver measurable outcomes that strengthen the conditions for leaders to thrive.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Psychology, Learning and Development or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR, Talent, organizational development or leadership-development experience, with significant depth in leader capability.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal coaching certification (ICF accredited or equivalent) or demonstrated experience building and scaling coaching capability within a large organization.
  • Experience applying assessments (360-degree feedback, leadership assessments, etc.) as part of an integrated development strategy.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled learning technology and its application in leader learning pathways and personalized development.
  • CHRP, SHRM-CP/SCP or other recognized HR certification is an asset.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities or natural resources sector is considered an asset.

This position requires candidates to:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.
  • Travel to other company locations for meetings or collaboration may be required on an occasional basis.

To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada and the U.S.
