The Opportunity
Our HR Talent team is looking to add an experienced Talent leader, in Calgary, AB or Houston, TX to strengthen our integrated talent management system and drive meaningful improvements in goal setting and performance, talent assessment and succession, internal mobility, and career development.
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Manager, Talent Readiness with knowledge and experience in enterprise-scale performance management, succession planning, and integrated talent systems. This individual will own TC Energy's Talent Readiness strategy end-to-end - connecting performance, talent reviews, career development, and internal mobility into one cohesive approach that equips leaders to have the right people ready for critical roles and future business needs.
What You'll Do
- Own the Talent Readiness strategy, functional plan, roadmap, standards, outcomes and measures, ensuring alignment to TC Energy's HR Strategic Pillars: Develop Great Leaders, Drive Organizational Results, and Be an Employer of Choice.
- Lead the enterprise performance-management approach, including business and development goal setting and meaningful performance conversations that connect to broader talent outcomes.
- Lead enterprise talent review and succession practices so leaders consistently identify, develop and prepare talent for future needs - treating these processes as active leader development opportunities, not administrative cycles.
- Connect performance, talent reviews, succession, career development and internal mobility as one integrated talent system, enabling leaders to make informed, future-focused decisions using complete talent data.
- Establish common standards, governance, decision rights and ownership boundaries across Talent, HR and the business, ensuring consistency and accountability across geographies.
- Bring together talent data and insights - quantitative and qualitative - to improve career, development, succession and mobility decisions, and to define clear evidence of talent readiness.
- Lead and develop the Talent Performance team, manage interdependencies across the broader Talent portfolio, and continuously improve programs based on evidence and stakeholder feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive HR or Talent Management experience, with substantial direct experience in performance management, succession and enterprise talent management.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams.
- Demonstrated experience designing, governing and improving enterprise-scale talent practices - not only administering annual cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a Workday or equivalent HRIS environment, with comfort using talent data for evidence-based decision-making.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled talent insights and their application in succession, mobility and development planning.
- CHRP, SHRM-CP/SCP or other recognized HR certification is an asset.
- Experience in the energy, utilities or natural resources sector is considered an asset.
This position requires candidates to:
- Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.
- Travel to other company locations for meetings or collaboration may be required on an occasional basis.
