We are looking for a Material Handler to join our day shift in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Reporting to the Fulfilment and Logistics Manager, the Material Handler will be responsible for the seamless processing of incoming and outgoing shipments and perform tasks deemed necessary. This position plays a key role with other departments whose business functions depend on the Receiver for accuracy and efficiency.
The pay range for this position is $21.00 to $ 22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
When your actions lead to success:
- Pick, pack, and process customer orders accurately and efficiently to meet daily production and shipping requirements
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments, ensuring materials match purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documentation
- Safely load, unload, sort, store, and distribute materials to appropriate departments and locations
- Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, receiving, and warehouse records using manual and computerized systems
- Identify, investigate, and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing deliveries, working to resolve issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and carriers to support smooth operations
- Conduct quality checks on incoming materials and ensure compliance with company standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all health and safety procedures
- Operate material handling equipment and warehouse machinery safely and efficiently
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers while supporting overall warehouse and distribution activities
Qualifications
When your expertise drives us:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or distribution environment
- Valid forklift certification and order picking experience
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and email applications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks involving standing, walking, bending, and material handling
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
- Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to quality, safety, and accuracy
- Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required
