We are looking for an experienced Rollstand Operator to support our "400" printing press.

This position is currently open and reflects a new position created to support our production at TC Transcontinental Calgary.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

• Prepare rolls and materials to support efficient press operations.
• Maintain fountain solution and chemical levels according to established standards.
• Manage ink supplies, including ink totes, to ensure adequate inventory is available for production.
• Monitor and control white waste to support operational efficiency.
• Apply knowledge of job duties, work practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and press equipment.
• Perform general press maintenance and assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Support the Press Operator with make-ready, press setup and operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Assist with press automation as needed.
• Monitor product quality throughout the production process and take appropriate action when concerns are identified.
• Follow established health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support a clean, safe, and organized work environment by adhering to 5S standards.

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

 

• 2–5 years of printing industry experience.
• Previous Rollstand Operator experience or related press experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production equipment.
• Working knowledge of printing techniques, processes, products, and equipment.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a team.
• A positive and adaptable approach to changing priorities in a production environment.
• Comfort working at various heights and climbing stairs as required by the position.
