- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, technical discussions, and project reviews.
- Analyze manufacturing challenges and develop practical automation concepts and solutions.
- Create preliminary layouts and conceptual system designs to support proposals.
- Define project scope, assumptions, deliverables, exclusions, risks, and commercial considerations.
- Prepare budgetary estimates, ROM pricing, quotations, and detailed proposal packages.
- Obtain and review supplier quotations for purchased equipment, subcontracted services, and key project components.
- Collaborate with engineering, controls, project management, manufacturing, purchasing, and operations teams to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare customer-facing proposals, presentations, and technical summaries.
- Support the successful handoff of awarded projects to execution teams.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in estimating accuracy, proposal quality, and quotation turnaround times.
- Stay current with manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and industry trends.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you'll be successful when you:
- Quickly evaluate and qualify customer opportunities.
- Develop practical automation concepts that solve real manufacturing challenges.
- Deliver accurate estimates and professional proposals on time.
- Identify technical and commercial risks early.
- Support Business Development with strong customer-focused solutions.
- Help ensure awarded projects transition smoothly into execution.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, machine design, manufacturing systems, or automation integration.
- Experience preparing estimates, quotations, budgets, or technical proposals.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and automated equipment.
- Ability to evaluate customer requirements and develop practical automation concepts.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar engineering software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to balance technical, commercial, and scheduling considerations.
- Strong organizational and project prioritization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and passport.
