This role supports effective risk management, governance, and informed decision-making by providing challenge, monitoring, reporting, and oversight across operational risk, Issues Management, remediation, and Risk Acceptance, helping ensure business activities remain aligned with TD’s risk appetite and control framework.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Lead Business Risk Oversight for assigned TDAM activities, providing independent challenge across operational risk, Issues Management, remediation, and Risk Acceptance.
  • Oversee ServiceNow/eGRC Issues and remediation activities, identifying material exposures, overdue actions, evidence gaps, and matters requiring escalation.
  • Challenge Issue Owners on root cause, risk ratings, remediation plans, target dates, compensating controls, and evidence supporting sustainable closure.
  • Deliver clear, management-ready risk reporting that highlights portfolio risk posture, emerging themes, material changes, and decisions required.
  • Monitor risk indicators and assess significant business changes, control deficiencies, events, and emerging risks against TD’s risk appetite.
  • Oversee the Risk Acceptance lifecycle, ensuring appropriate rationale, approvals, monitoring, reassessment, renewal, and closure.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Translate TD enterprise risk and control requirements into practical TDAM governance, monitoring, and oversight practices.
  • Own oversight of assigned Issue portfolios, including open and overdue Issues, remediation tasks, validations, extensions, and evidence readiness.
  • Ensure ServiceNow/eGRC information used for risk reporting is complete, accurate, and traceable to authoritative evidence.
  • Provide effective challenge of Issue assessments, risk ratings, remediation plans, delivery confidence, and closure evidence.
  • Drive Oversight challenges and escalations to resolution, with clear ownership, decisions, actions, and documented outcomes.
  • Identify cross-cutting risk themes and control weaknesses, and recommend actions to strengthen TDAM’s control environment.
  • Represent Business Risk Oversight in cross-functional initiatives and governance forums, reinforcing TD’s Three Lines of Defence model.

EMPLOYEE / TEAM

  • Act as a trusted risk advisor to TDAM business leaders, Issue Owners, control partners, and enterprise risk functions.
  • Lead the communication and escalation of emerging risks, overdue commitments, evidence gaps, and material governance concerns.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource on Issues Management, Risk Acceptance, RCSA, control testing, ServiceNow/eGRC, and risk reporting.
  • Improve the consistency and efficiency of risk monitoring, reporting, evidence review, and governance practices.
  • Mentor colleagues, share best practices, and strengthen team capability across operational risk and governance disciplines.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining appropriate independence, sound judgment, and constructive challenge.

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Provide experienced Business Risk Oversight across TDAM operational risk, Issues Management, Risk Acceptance, RCSA, control testing, and governance.
  • Lead moderately complex risk workstreams and ongoing processes from assessment through remediation, validation, escalation, and closure.
  • Work independently within broad enterprise guidelines, exercising sound judgment on risk exposure, evidence sufficiency, data quality, and escalation needs.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to develop clear risk conclusions and practical recommendations.
  • Translate enterprise requirements into practical business guidance with clear accountabilities, actions, timelines, and evidence expectations.
  • Act as an escalation point and knowledge resource for risk governance matters, identifying issues early and leading them through resolution.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in operational risk, Business Risk Oversight, Issues Management, controls, governance, compliance, or asset management operations.
