Job Description:

The Manager, AI and Automation Initiatives supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-priority automation and AI-enabled transformation initiatives across CPB COO and Operations (BECS). The Manager works closely with business, technology, risk, governance, and delivery partners to help translate strategic objectives into executable MVP scope, delivery plans, and measurable business outcomes.

The Manager provides strong execution support across scope definition, requirements alignment, stakeholder coordination, benefit realization tracking, and governance readiness. This role helps ensure AI and automation initiatives remain focused on practical use cases, operational value, delivery feasibility, and alignment to enterprise standards.

The Manager demonstrates strong business acumen, critical thinking, structured problem solving, and the ability to operate effectively through ambiguity while supporting cross-functional teams through iterative MVP delivery.

Job Accountabilities:

Supports the planning, coordination, and execution of AI and automation initiatives across CPB COO and Operations, including BECS
Partners with business, technology, risk, governance, and operational stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into executable MVP scope and delivery plans
Supports the definition, refinement, and validation of use cases to ensure alignment to business value, operational feasibility, and delivery readiness
Helps assess and prioritize automation opportunities based on process complexity, control requirements, technology fit, implementation effort, and expected benefits
Coordinates cross-functional working sessions to drive clarity on requirements, dependencies, assumptions, decisions, risks, and open questions
Supports the development and maintenance of initiative roadmaps, MVP sequencing, and fast-follow release considerations
Tracks delivery progress, key milestones, scope changes, risks, issues, and dependencies to support transparent reporting and proactive escalation
Develops clear, concise, and executive-ready materials, including status updates, decision summaries, briefing notes, meeting materials, and stakeholder communications
Supports benefit realization planning by helping define success criteria, operational metrics, baseline assumptions, and value tracking mechanisms
Works with business and operational teams to understand current-state processes, pain points, manual effort, control considerations, and opportunities for simplification
Partners with technology and platform teams to assess solution options, implementation constraints, integration needs, and scalability considerations
Supports alignment to enterprise governance, risk, privacy, model risk, operational risk, and change management expectations applicable to AI and automation delivery
Helps ensure solutions are designed with appropriate consideration for control effectiveness, operational resilience, auditability, and sustainable ownership
Connects the dots across business, technology, governance, and delivery teams to reduce ambiguity, duplication, and rework
Identifies, documents, and manages key decisions, trade-offs, delivery risks, and stakeholder impacts throughout the MVP lifecycle
Supports Product Owners, delivery leads, and business sponsors with backlog refinement, prioritization, sprint or increment planning, and readiness activities
Provides structured analysis and recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior leaders
Maintains strong relationships across stakeholder groups and promotes clear accountability, transparency, and collaborative ways of working
Supports change readiness by partnering with impacted business areas to understand adoption needs, operational impacts, training considerations, and transition requirements
Contributes to the development of repeatable practices, templates, playbooks, and delivery standards for AI and automation initiatives
Demonstrates flexibility to support multiple workstreams, working groups, or Pods as priorities evolve
Provides coaching, guidance, and day-to-day support to analysts, delivery partners, and working team members as required
Operates with urgency, ownership, and sound judgment in a complex, fast-paced transformation environment

Additional Information:

Minimum 5-7 years of experience supporting large, complex transformation programs, preferably within financial services, banking, operations, risk, or technology delivery environments
Experience supporting AI, automation, workflow digitization, process optimization, or technology-enabled business transformation initiatives is strongly preferred
Experience with CPB, COO, Operations, BECS, KYC, AML, control testing, monitoring, or regulatory transformation initiatives is an asset
Strong understanding of MVP delivery, iterative release planning, business case alignment, benefit realization, and delivery trade-off management
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems into structured scope, requirements, options, recommendations, and executable plans
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence across business, technology, risk, governance, and senior leadership groups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-ready materials and synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
Experience working with Agile, SAFe, hybrid, or waterfall delivery methodologies, including backlog refinement, sprint or increment planning, and delivery governance
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive clarity in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with enterprise risk, operational risk, model risk, privacy, change management, and technology governance considerations is an asset
Experience working with automation platforms, AI-enabled solutions, workflow tools, data-driven monitoring, or control automation capabilities is an asset
PMP, CBAP, SAFe, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications are considered assets
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, promote collaboration, and support teams through change
Ability to support multiple workstreams or initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivery discipline
