The Opportunity
Join Treasury’s Asset and Liability Management team and help conduct and enhance reporting processes, control frameworks, forecasts and analytics related to the Bank’s balance sheet. You will provide analytical support to senior colleagues, help guide junior analysts and contribute to accurate, efficient and comprehensive reporting.
TD Department Overview: The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD’s consolidated non-trading market risk, funds transfer pricing measurement framework, funding strategies, liquidity risk and capital position. TBSM ALM Team Overview: The Asset & Liability Management (ALM) team within Treasury is responsible for the measurement, management and optimization of the Bank’s Non‑Trading Market Risk (NTMR). The team plays a critical role in ensuring the institution remains financially resilient and strategically aligned by overseeing structural interest rate risk, balance sheet dynamics, hedging strategies and earnings sensitivity. Through disciplined analytics and risk identification, ALM supports Treasury’s mandate to deliver stable, sustainable earnings while operating within the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
ALM Measurement (or MRMA Measurement) Team Overview: is a centralized function within TBSM responsible for the production, analysis, governance, and control of NTMR and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) measurement activities. The team supports TBSM’s responsibility to understand and manage structural market risks arising from the Bank’s banking-book positions and provides accurate, complete, and timely risk measurement results support balance sheet management, internal and regulatory reporting, financial disclosure, and management decision-making.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain financial models used to generate risk measurement information for Asset and Liability Management.
- Analyze asset and liability portfolios, evaluate trends, reconcile cash flow activity and support balance sheet and Net Interest Income forecasts.
- Develop, document and maintain assigned applications, and implement changes to the technology base in an orderly manner with minimal service disruption.
- Diagnose and resolve problems of varying complexity, collaborating with internal and external partners where expertise or cooperation is required.
- Conduct reporting and meaningful analysis, draw conclusions and make recommendations for management or broader audiences.
- Support improvements to processes, controls, documentation and reporting while maintaining alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead moderately complex projects, end-to-end processes or functional programs within the area of expertise.
- Share knowledge, mentor colleagues and keep stakeholders informed on project status, issues and relevant developments.

- In-depth expertise in Asset and Liability Management and working knowledge of broader related areas.
- Experience developing financial models, performing quantitative analysis and translating complex information into practical advice.
- The ability to solve complex problems involving multiple variables and stakeholders and to recommend process, product or service improvements.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to convey business context to internal and external stakeholders.
- A well-managed approach to risk, controls, confidentiality and evolving regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experiences
- Post-secondary degree
- SQL skill is a MUST, and other programming languages considered assets
- CFA, FRM, MBA considered assets
- Principles of asset/liability management, capital markets, and how Treasury deliver value
- Superior understanding of capital market instruments including bond and interest rate derivatives.
- Superior understanding of risk measurement and valuation concepts (cash flow, PV, IRR, duration, convexity, etc.).
- TBSM processes and how they interconnect considered an asset
- The features and characteristics of retail banking products
- Market Risk concepts and their application to banking products
- Coordinating cross functional teams to deliver key initiatives
- Managing projects, gathering & analyzing business requirements and explaining requirements to system developers
- Mapping-out/re-engineering processes and workflows, including associated change management
- Communicating with all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Simplifying complex concepts and business results in terms understandable by audiences with varied backgrounds & seniority levels

Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
