Job Description:
TD Securities is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager / Scrum Master to support the delivery of strategic initiatives within the rapidly evolving Tokenized Deposits and Digital Assets space.
This is an exciting opportunity for a delivery professional who is passionate about emerging payments technology and enjoys working in complex, fast-moving environments. The successful candidate will lead Agile delivery activities, facilitate collaboration across business and technology teams, and help bring clarity and structure to initiatives involving new capabilities, operating models, and technologies.
The candidate will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, technology teams, architecture, risk and control partners, vendors, and other delivery teams. They will be responsible for managing project plans and dependencies, supporting backlog execution, facilitating Agile ceremonies, addressing risks and impediments, and ensuring that delivery remains aligned with business objectives and TD standards.
Key Accountabilities
Project Management and Delivery
- Lead the planning and execution of complex technology initiatives within the Tokenized Deposits and Digital Assets portfolio.
- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, timelines, resource requirements, and delivery plans.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, financial forecasts, status reports, and delivery documentation.
- Monitor delivery progress and ensure that initiatives remain on schedule, within approved scope, and aligned with applicable quality standards.
- Identify, assess, track, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions.
- Proactively escalate delivery concerns and work with stakeholders to develop practical resolution and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate activities across internal teams, external vendors, and other dependent projects or programs.
- Adapt project plans and delivery approaches in response to changing priorities, requirements, and business needs.
- Support the development of business cases, funding requests, leadership updates, and project governance materials.
Scrum Master and Agile Delivery
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional Agile delivery teams.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technology leads to maintain a clear, prioritized, and actionable product backlog.
- Support the translation of business and technical requirements into well-defined epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery tasks.
- Help teams establish realistic sprint goals, delivery commitments, and release plans.
- Identify and remove impediments that may affect team productivity or delivery outcomes.
- Promote transparency through accurate reporting of sprint progress, delivery metrics, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, practices, roles, and ways of working.
- Encourage continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and disciplined execution across the delivery team.
- Apply an appropriate balance of Agile and traditional project management practices based on the needs of the initiative.
Stakeholder and Team Management
- Build strong working relationships across business, technology, operations, architecture, risk, compliance, governance, and vendor teams.
- Operate effectively in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders, priorities, and delivery dependencies.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring requirements, priorities, constraints, and decisions are clearly understood.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, resolve issues, clarify scope, and drive decisions.
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, dependencies, and key decisions clearly to delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and establish alignment across groups with different priorities or perspectives.
- Provide direction, coordination, and coaching on project-specific activities.
- Create an inclusive and collaborative team environment that encourages open communication and constructive problem-solving.
Tokenized Deposits and Digital Assets
- Develop a strong understanding of the Tokenized Deposits initiative, its business objectives, technology components, stakeholders, and delivery roadmap.
- Coordinate delivery activities involving emerging digital-asset and payments capabilities.
- Work through complex or ambiguous requirements and help stakeholders establish clear priorities, decisions, ownership, and next steps.
- Support collaboration across business, technology, risk, control, architecture, and vendor stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of emerging developments in tokenized deposits, digital assets, payments technology, and related market practices.
- Bring curiosity, adaptability, and a strong interest in helping TD evaluate and deliver new payments capabilities responsibly.
Job Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- Passion for Tokenized Deposits, Digital Assets, and new and rapidly evolving payments technologies.
- 8 or more years of experience working as an IT Project Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or in a comparable delivery role.
- Extensive experience delivering complex technology initiatives in Agile or hybrid Agile project environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional technology projects from initiation through implementation.
- Experience serving as a Scrum Master and facilitating Agile ceremonies for multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, product backlogs, sprint planning, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release planning.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and manage multiple stakeholders, teams, priorities, and dependencies.
- Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate project plans, documentation, reporting, and governance materials.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity, emerging requirements, and evolving delivery priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to bring structure and clarity to complex situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technology specialists, business partners, vendors, and senior leaders.
- Experience identifying and managing project risks, issues, dependencies, financials, resources, and delivery milestones.
- Ability to apply business, technology, Agile, and project management knowledge to complex strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency with standard project management, collaboration, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Undergraduate degree or relevant combination of education and professional experience.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Project Management Professional, or PMP, designation.
- Certified ScrumMaster, or CSM, designation, or another recognized Agile certification.
- Experience delivering payments technology or payments platform initiatives.
- Experience with payment processing, payment modernization, or transaction banking
- Knowledge of Tokenized Deposits, blockchain, distributed ledger technology, digital assets, or asset tokenization.
- Awareness of emerging payments technologies, standards, market developments, and industry trends.
