Sr.Test Engineer/ QA Lead

Results-driven Test Lead / Quality Assurance Lead with 15+ years of experience in Manual Testing, Quality Assurance, Test Management, and Software Delivery. Extensive expertise in the Health Insurance domain, including complex business workflows, policy administration, claims, member services, provider processes, and regulatory requirements.

Canadian Citizen with active Protected B security status. Proven experience leading QA teams, managing end-to-end testing activities, preparing estimates, coordinating stakeholders, and reporting quality metrics to senior management. Skilled in Mobile Testing, Accessibility Testing, defect management, and test reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage QA teams across multiple projects, releases, and Agile/Scrum delivery streams.

Define and implement test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test execution schedules.

Review business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure complete test coverage.

Prepare testing effort estimates, resource plans, test schedules, and risk assessments.

Coordinate Manual Testing activities including Functional Testing, System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Production Validation.

Perform and lead Mobile Testing across iOS and Android applications, including device compatibility, usability, functional, and responsive testing.

Conduct Accessibility Testing based on WCAG standards, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, color contrast, form accessibility, and usability requirements.

Manage defects through ALM, including defect logging, triage, prioritization, tracking, validation, and closure.

Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and Business Stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve quality issues.

Facilitate defect triage meetings and communicate critical defects, testing risks, release readiness, and quality concerns.

Prepare daily, weekly, and executive-level QA reports covering test progress, defect status, test coverage, risks, blockers, and release recommendations.

Present QA status and quality metrics to Senior Management and project leadership.

Ensure compliance with Health Insurance business rules, privacy requirements, data protection standards, and Protected B information-handling practices.

Mentor junior QA analysts and provide guidance on testing best practices, defect documentation, and quality processes.

Support continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes, test documentation, reporting, and release governance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

15+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Manual Testing.

Strong experience in the Health Insurance domain.

Canadian Citizen with active Protected B security status.

Ability to prepare detailed test reports and communicate quality status to senior leadership.

Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and complex testing dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

ISTQB Certification or equivalent QA certification.

Experience with healthcare applications, insurance policy administration systems, claims systems, member portals, provider portals, or digital health platforms.

Experience with Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar tools.

Experience working with Canadian government, healthcare, insurance, or Protected B environments.
