IT Support Specialist
Location: Caledon, ON or Brantford, ON
Schedule: Full-Time | 100% Onsite
Openings: 2 - One position in Caledon and one in Brantford
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support at one of our Ontario locations. We have two separate openings - one in Caledon and one in Brantford. Candidates only need to be able to commute to one location.
This is not a traditional ticket-heavy help desk position. You will be the primary IT resource onsite at your assigned location, so we're looking for someone smart, resourceful, independent, and comfortable taking ownership of technical issues.
The role is approximately 80% hands-on IT support and 20% networking.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary onsite IT support resource for the facility
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, peripherals, and other workplace technology
- Support Windows environments and Microsoft 365
- Install, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot hardware and software
- Support warehouse/operational technology, including scanners and connected devices
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, Wi-Fi, switches, patch panels, and cabling
- Assist with basic network administration and infrastructure support
- Handle employee onboarding/offboarding and device provisioning
- Maintain hardware, software, asset, and licensing inventory
- Coordinate with remote IT teams and third-party vendors when necessary
- Follow IT security and network best practices
- Take ownership of onsite issues and troubleshoot independently before escalating
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience preferred
- Strong Windows and Microsoft 365 troubleshooting experience
- Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals
- Working knowledge of networking, connectivity, switches, and cabling
- Comfortable working independently as the primary IT person onsite
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Resourceful, ambitious, and willing to figure things out
- Experience in an MSP, warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or field support environment is highly preferred
- Experience supporting warehouse scanners or similar operational equipment is a strong plus
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco, or similar certifications are helpful but not required
