Appian Developers – AI & Intelligent Automation

Tech Talent International (TTI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to startups, small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US. We are currently hiring a multiple Appian Developers and Technical Leads focused on AI and Automation. These roles are with our global consulting client, working for a major enterprise client.

Role: Appian Developers – AI & Intelligent Automation

Rate Range: $70 -80/hr C2C (40 hrs /week)

Duration: 6-12 months

Location: Hybrid, 2-3 days in office, Toronto or London, ON, Canada

Role Overview

Appian Developer – AI & Intelligent Automation

This opportunity focuses on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise Appian BPM solutions, with assignments spanning workflow automation, AI-enabled applications, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Appian applications and automated business workflows.
• Support the stability, reliability, and performance of enterprise Appian production systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve L1/L2 incidents involving applications, workflows, and integrations, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis, validate fixes, and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents.
• Monitor applications, alerts, and workflows to identify anomalies and performance issues.
• Implement application fixes, configuration changes, and enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
• Support intelligent automation initiatives using AI, IDP, RPA, and scripting.
• For AI-enabled solutions, assist with troubleshooting AI models, data pipelines, and inference services.
• Support monitoring for model drift, data quality issues, inference performance, and AI system degradation.
• Assist with model updates, prompt tuning, deployments, and retraining activities, where applicable.
• Support change management, release management, and production deployments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, data scientists, ML engineers, and operational support teams.
• Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, technical documentation, and support procedures.
• Follow enterprise security, compliance, responsible AI, and data governance standards.

Required Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in Appian development and support.
• Strong expertise in Appian BPM, Appian application development, business process management, and workflow automation.
• Experience supporting enterprise production applications and business-critical processes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application issues, workflow failures, integrations, and system performance.
• Experience with incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of application monitoring, operational support, and service management practices.
• Experience supporting deployments, releases, and production changes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.

Specialized Skills

We welcome candidates with strengths in one or more of the following areas. Assignment requirements will depend on the opportunity.

• AI-enabled applications: Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, model lifecycle management, model drift, data quality monitoring, inference monitoring, and AI performance tracking.
• Intelligent Document Processing: Experience supporting or implementing IDP solutions within automated business processes.
• Robotic Process Automation: Experience supporting or implementing RPA solutions and automating repetitive operational tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Generative AI solutions.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering and prompt tuning.
• Exposure to MLOps, model deployment, and retraining processes.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, AI governance, and data governance principles.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based support and operational processes.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Appian certification.
