Role Description This is a contract, on-site Power BI Developer role based in Toronto, ON. The Power BI Developer will design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for business stakeholders. Daily responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data requirements, creating data models, and developing visualizations using Power BI. The role also involves connecting to various data sources, optimizing report performance, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support decision-making. The Power BI Developer will document solutions, follow best practices for data governance, and provide user support and training as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Power BI development, including building dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Proficiency in data analysis and SQL, with experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
- Experience designing data visualizations and translating business requirements into clear, insightful reports.
- Ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and refine solutions.
- Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data integration, and data quality best practices.
- Comfort with documentation, version control, and adherence to data governance and security standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in a BI, data analytics, or reporting role within a corporate or consulting environment is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to work effectively on-site in Toronto, ON.
