Original job description

Techo-Bloc makes the hardscaping products that transform ordinary outdoor spaces into something people are proud of - premium concrete pavers, retaining walls, and architectural masonry that end up in backyards, commercial plazas, and everything in between. We have 9 manufacturing facilities, 13+ distribution centers, and over 900 people working across more than 20 locations in Canada and the United States.

That kind of footprint doesn't run itself. Every plant, every distribution center, every field salesperson and office team depends on technology that simply works. That's what our IT team delivers - and it's why the people who lead it matter so much.

Job Description

WHY WE NEED YOU

Our infrastructure doesn't stand still. Servers, networks, storage, and the systems that monitor them all need someone who treats "keeping the lights on" as a floor, not a ceiling - someone who maintains what's there, spots what's about to break, and pushes the environment forward with the rest of the IT team.

You'll work close to the ground - configuring, testing, monitoring, patching, troubleshooting - while staying connected to the bigger picture: the infrastructure roadmap the IT team is building together. That means you need to be as comfortable in a server room or on a network diagram as you are documenting a fix so the next person doesn't have to solve it twice.

WHY YOU WILL (OR WON'T) LIKE WORKING HERE

You'll love this job if you want real ownership over infrastructure that touches every site in a large, growing manufacturing company - and if you'd rather fix the root cause than the symptom.

You won't love it if you need everything already figured out. We're a manufacturing company that moves fast and evolves constantly - some of our processes are mature, some are still being defined, and you'll have a hand in shaping both. If a little ambiguity feels like opportunity, you'll be right at home.

What You'll Own

Infrastructure Standards

Help ensure infrastructure and its operation stay compliant with established policies, procedures, and company standards.

Multi-Site Infrastructure Administration

Participate in the installation and administration of infrastructure across the company's various sites.
Keep all infrastructure components current - networks, servers, storage.
Manage server monitoring systems to catch issues before they become outages.

Problem Resolution

Analyze reported problems, diagnose root causes, reproduce issues, and assess impact.
Take the necessary corrective action and follow through until full resolution.

Data Protection & Continuity

Manage data backup and archiving processes.
Collaborate on the implementation, maintenance, and testing of the IT disaster recovery plan.

Projects, Documentation & Support

Actively participate in new technology implementation projects and other IT initiatives.
Produce technical documentation for the infrastructure and for new projects.
Provide after-hours support on a rotating on-call schedule with other team members.
Travel occasionally (approximately 5% of the time) to our sites in Quebec, Ontario, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and North Carolina.

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE

You stay calm when things break, which they will. You're organized enough to juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture, and thorough enough that your documentation actually gets used. You communicate clearly with both technicians and non-technical staff, and you know how to adjust your register for the room.

You're bilingual - genuinely comfortable in both French and English - which matters in a company that runs plants in Quebec and offices across North America. And you care about getting it right, not just getting it done, because the people across the company who depend on the infrastructure are counting on you even if they never know your name.

Ideal Experience

5+ years of experience as a systems administrator or in a similar infrastructure role.
Experience in a multi-site environment, ideally manufacturing, distribution, or industrial - you understand what it means when operations go down.
Solid hands-on experience with virtualized servers (Linux & Windows), networks, and storage (installation, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting).
Strong command of the Microsoft stack: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, SharePoint, Azure IaaS
Experience with backup, archiving, and monitoring tools, and familiarity with disaster recovery planning and testing.
Familiarity with ERP environments
Comfortable working from an ITSM/ticketing platform - Jira preferred.
Experience in Cloud Environment (Azure, AWS, Docker)
Fluency in French and English is required - our headquarters is in Saint-Hubert, QC and the team spans the country.
