Position Overview
- The Client is seeking an experienced Desktop Technologist and DevOps/Cloud Engineer to support its cloud migration and Microsoft-based IT environment. The successful candidate will provide hands-on, desk-side technical support for end-user hardware, software, and business applications.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Automate server maintenance, patching, monitoring, backups, and deployments.
- Manage Microsoft Intune, including endpoint inventory, scheduled updates, device configuration, and application deployment.
- Support Windows 11 deployment, updates, troubleshooting, and advanced endpoint administration.
- Create and deploy standardized application packages and golden images through Microsoft Intune.
- Implement endpoint vulnerability management and patching processes, including third-party application updates.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID, including user account creation, role assignments, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Develop and maintain automated scripts for account provisioning and routine administrative tasks.
- Implement and manage device compliance policies and endpoint security configurations.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- Assist with Windows Autopilot configuration and device provisioning.
- Integrate and support Microsoft Defender for endpoint security.
- Provide desk-side technical support for hardware, software, and business applications.
- Respond to incidents and service requests submitted through the Help Desk system.
- Maintain accurate endpoint inventories and ensure devices remain updated, compliant, and secure.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and process optimization.
- Automation and scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Microsoft Intune: endpoint management, application deployment, inventory management, patching, and scheduled updates.
- Windows 11: advanced endpoint support, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Entra ID: identity and access management, account provisioning, and role administration.
- Microsoft 365 endpoint administration and support.
- SharePoint and Microsoft Teams administration and end-user support.
- Endpoint security and patching, including vulnerability management, security policies, and third-party application patching.
- Automation of server maintenance, monitoring, backups, deployments, and administrative processes.
- Technical support for end-user hardware, software, and business applications.
- Additional Assets
- Microsoft Defender integration and endpoint security.
- Networking fundamentals and Azure fundamentals/cloud environments.
- Windows Autopilot.
- Customer service and end-user support.
- Experience supporting public-sector IT environments.
- Preferred Certifications
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are highly preferred:
- MD-102: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- SC-900: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
- AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals
- MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
- SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- The position is 100% onsite, five days per week, in Toronto, Ontario.
- Public-sector experience is preferred.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are highly preferred.
