Our client is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, integration, and modernization of enterprise applications supporting Ontario's justice-sector operations. The role has a strong focus on Microsoft .NET development, SQL Server, application integration, data migration, enterprise architecture, web services, APIs, and dashboard/reporting solutions. The developer will also contribute to integrating information across justice-sector systems and consolidating legacy data sources into unified platforms to improve data quality, reporting consistency, analytics, and interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, maintain, and support enterprise applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, and VB.NET.
  • Design, develop, consume, and integrate Web Services and Web APIs.
  • Build and enhance dashboards, reporting services, data pipelines, and analytics solutions.
  • Design secure integrations between F-Path, Vanguard (QuinC), and justice-sector databases.
  • Develop data-exchange mechanisms and integrate information across multiple enterprise systems.
  • Perform data migration, transformation, consolidation, and integration from legacy data sources.
  • Develop and optimize SQL Server/T-SQL solutions, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, scripts, and database objects.
  • Contribute to conceptual, logical, and physical architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Apply Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and object-oriented design principles.
  • Create and work with technical artifacts such as Use Cases, Class Diagrams, Component Diagrams, and State Diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, participate in testing/QA, and resolve defects.
  • Prepare technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to project teams.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, project managers, and technical teams.

Must-Haves

  • 10+ years of software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in .NET/.NET Core.
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, and ASP.NET Identity.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, XML/XSLT.
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL experience, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts.
  • Experience with WCF, WPF, Entity Framework, Microsoft Web Services, and related Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming Web Services and Web APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and object-oriented design.
  • Experience with data migration and enterprise application integration.
  • Experience with Oracle RDBMS and web servers.
  • Experience with middleware, gateways, and communication protocols.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, TFS/Azure DevOps, and cloud development.
  • Ability to work with architecture and design artifacts such as Use Cases, Class Diagrams, Component Diagrams, and State Diagrams.
