Position Summary
The Intermediate Software Developer will translate business requirements and technical system specifications into working, tested applications. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, application design, Java EE development, and unit testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and technical system specifications.
- Design application solutions aligned with requirements and established design patterns.
- Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java EE technologies.
- Implement ORM-based data access using JPA, Hibernate, or similar tools.
- Write and execute unit tests to validate application functionality.
- Deploy, troubleshoot, and support Java EE applications.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience developing n-tier enterprise applications.
- 7+ years of hands-on development experience with Java Enterprise technologies.
- Strong application design skills, including modern design patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Extensive hands-on Java EE development and troubleshooting experience.
- Expertise in JPA or Hibernate and the Spring Framework.
- Database experience; Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and PL/SQL are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Eclipse IDE or Rational Application Developer.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or jQuery.
Evaluation Criteria 1. Technical Expertise 40%
- 7+ years developing n-tier enterprise applications and hands-on experience with Java Enterprise technologies.
- Application design, design patterns, deployment, troubleshooting, and unit testing.
- ORM tools such as JPA, Hibernate, or MyBatis.
2. Spring Framework 15%
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Batch, Spring Security, and related components.
3. Database Management 15%
- Experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures using Oracle/PL/SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and PL/SQL is highly desirable.
4. Cloud and BPM 20%
- AWS services such as Aurora Serverless, Athena, Amazon S3, ElastiCache, and OpenSearch.
- Business Process Management tools such as Camunda BPM and Drools Rule Engine.
5. UI Development 10%
- Experience with React, Angular, and/or jQuery.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Agile development experience, including Scrum, user stories, continuous integration (CI), test-driven development (TDD), and automated testing.
- Experience developing web services and implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Experience with BPM tools such as jBPM, Activiti, IBM Process Server, Camunda BPM, or Drools Rule Engine.
- Experience with fine-grained security frameworks such as Spring Security, Apache Shiro, or ForgeRock.
