Tecnicas Reunidas Canada E&C Inc. is part of the Tecnicas Reunidas Group, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction services for energy and large-scale industrial projects.
We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining company standards and implementing best HSE practices in accordance with established protocols.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in HSE, regulatory compliance, and EPC project execution. This role will have overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with applicable Canadian legislation, regulatory requirements, industry codes and standards, and company HSE requirements, while providing HSE leadership and oversight throughout all stages of project execution.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee the Project HSE Management System on site, ensuring compliance with company requirements, applicable legislation, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Develop, implement, review, and audit project-specific HSE plans and procedures in coordination with Corporate HSE and Project Management.
- Ensure subcontractors understand and comply with all project HSE requirements.
- Provide HSE leadership and support to management, project, and operations teams on safety, occupational health, and environmental matters.
- Monitor HSE performance through reporting, statistics, KPIs, inspections, and audits, and communicate results and improvement initiatives to management.
- Identify HSE risks associated with work activities and implement effective accident prevention and risk mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with the Site/Project Manager to address HSE issues and implement required corrective actions.
- Ensure the implementation of HSE training, orientations, toolbox meetings, emergency response drills, and other safety programs.
- Conduct HSE training and orientation for new employees and ensure personnel travelling to sites or other work locations meet all required HSE training, medical, and vaccination requirements.
- Act as a senior HSE advisor to management, providing expert guidance on construction and project HSE matters.
- Support bidding and project execution activities by ensuring appropriate HSE resources and requirements are identified and addressed.
- Maintain effective communication with all levels of the organization, from site personnel to senior management.
- Perform other related duties as required.
✅ Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university. A Master’s degree in an applicable field is considered an asset.
- 10+ years of related experience in a similar HSE management role, preferably within Oil & Gas, LNG, power generation, petrochemical, energy, or heavy industrial EPC projects.
- Must be open to rotation and site work.
- Strong capabilities in team leadership, technical writing, client interface, and multidisciplinary coordination, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of applicable Canadian regulations, industry codes and standards, and engineering practices relevant to Safety and HSE.
