Reporting & Analytics Advisor – Business Analysis

Burnaby- Hybrid

12-Month Contract – Strong Possibility of Extension

We’re looking for a Reporting & Analytics Advisor who combines strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills with advanced Power BI and Excel capabilities.

This is not a heads-down Power BI Developer role. The successful candidate needs to be comfortable working independently with business groups and senior stakeholders - asking the right questions, gathering information, analyzing complex data, and turning it into clear, meaningful insights that non-technical audiences can understand.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work directly with stakeholders to gather and clarify business and reporting requirements with minimal direction.
• Analyze large and complex datasets and translate findings into clear business insights and recommendations.
• Develop dashboards, reports, scorecards and visualizations using Power BI and Excel.
• Take complex information and explain it in simple, business-friendly terms to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
• Coordinate reporting cycles, stakeholder inputs, analysis and QA/QC to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Identify reporting/process gaps, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend practical improvements.
• Support executive reporting, KPIs, scorecards and presentations.
• Build strong relationships across business, project and technical teams and confidently facilitate discussions.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong Business Analysis experience – requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, facilitation and translating business needs into solutions.
• Advanced Power BI and Excel skills.
• Experience analyzing complex datasets and developing dashboards, reports and visualizations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – you should be confident working directly with groups, SMEs and senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and obtain the information needed without relying on a manager for direction.
• Strong problem-solving, process improvement and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience with reporting governance, data quality and QA/QC.
• Experience supporting executive reporting, KPIs and scorecards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

Experience with Tableau, SQL or other analytics tools, as well as portfolio/PMO/project/performance reporting experience. Experience in a large complex organization, utility, infrastructure, public sector or regulated environment is also an asset.

Hybrid Schedule

Currently 2 days onsite per week, moving to 3 days onsite per week next year. Mondays are mandatory onsite.
