Financial Business Analyst – Finance & Data Analytics
Location: Vancouver / Burnaby, BC – Hybrid
Contract: Full-time contract until December 31, 2026, with potential extension
We’re looking for an experienced Financial Business Analyst to support a major financial reporting and data transformation initiative.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who understands Dynamics 365 Business Central and enjoys working at the intersection of Finance, Business Analysis, and Data & Analytics.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand changes to the organization’s financial model and reporting needs.
- Gather and document current and future-state requirements for financial reports, dashboards and analytics.
- Translate accounting and financial requirements into clear specifications for Data & Analytics teams.
- Work with Dynamics 365 Business Central data, financial modules and GL structures.
- Map source-system data, Business Central data elements and GL accounts.
- Define requirements for cost-centre transfers, allocations and journal-entry imports.
- Review and validate financial reports and dashboards developed by BI/Data teams.
- Reconcile reporting results back to the General Ledger and investigate discrepancies.
- Work closely with data analysts, BI developers and data engineers.
- Ensure reporting solutions accurately reflect accounting logic and business requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, General Ledger and journal-entry structures.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and its financial modules.
- Experience with financial data mapping, reconciliation and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with BI/Data Analytics teams.
- Power BI experience is an asset.
- Business Central Configuration Packages/import experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge Finance and technical teams.
Important
This is not a BI developer or coding position. The focus is on Finance + Accounting + Business Analysis + Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring the technical team understands the financial requirements and that completed reporting solutions are financially accurate.
Candidates must be able to work in a hybrid environment in the Vancouver/Burnaby area and meet the required security-clearance eligibility requirements.
