Senior Full Stack Developer – Toronto
Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week
Term: 6-month contract
Rate: $70–$75/hour incorporated
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join a collaborative Agile technology team building and enhancing cloud-native applications.
This is a true full-stack position requiring strong experience across Java/Spring, React and AWS. You’ll contribute across front-end and back-end development, testing, deployment and overall application quality.
What You’ll Do
- Develop front-end and back-end features using React, Java, Kotlin, Spring, Node.js and Hibernate
- Build and enhance scalable web applications and backend services
- Work with AWS cloud services and cloud-native deployments
- Develop and work with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, refactoring and performance improvements
- Create unit, integration, system and performance tests
- Work with Docker and containerized applications
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
- Collaborate closely with developers and other technical team members
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of software engineering/full-stack development experience
- 5+ years with Java, Spring and backend development
- 5+ years with React/Redux and JavaScript/TypeScript
- 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL
- Strong understanding of AWS services including S3, ECS, Fargate, API Gateway, IAM and CloudFormation
- Docker experience
- Experience building and architecting web applications and backend services
- Comfortable with Python
- Agile development experience
- Strong debugging, code quality, branching and refactoring practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

- Elasticsearch or other NoSQL technologies
- AWS Lambda and CloudWatch
Ideal candidate: A hands-on senior developer who is equally comfortable contributing to backend Java/Spring development, React front-end development and AWS cloud environments, rather than specializing in only one area.
