Original job description

Our client, an established construction contractor, is looking for a Project Coordinator / Estimator to join their Vancouver office. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will handle project coordination, document control, cost tracking, scheduling, procurement support, and estimating, working closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

What you will be doing:

Project Coordination and Document Control

Coordinate and maintain all project documentation, including drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, QA/QC reports, NCRs, schedules, and correspondence
Keep project documentation current, organized, and properly filed in company systems
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, action logs, and progress reports

Project Cost Control

Help Project Managers track budgets, costs, invoices, and progress billings
Support the administration of change orders, purchase orders, and contract documents
Assist with bid evaluations, contractor prequalification, tender summaries, and subcontract awards

Project Planning and Execution

Support project planning from mobilization through closeout
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and general trades
Help build and maintain project schedules and track key milestones
Communicate with clients, consultants, stakeholders, and field personnel
Support closeout, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranty documentation, inspections, and deficiency completion

Estimating Support

Assist with quantity take-offs, pricing, subcontractor and supplier quotes, and estimate preparation
Support bid submissions and pre-construction activities

What you must have:

3+ years of experience in construction project coordination, project management, or a related role
Solid understanding of commercial, industrial, or design-build construction
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear written and verbal communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction management software
Experience preparing meeting minutes, action logs, schedules, and project documentation
Estimating experience is highly desirable

Assets

Knowledge of QA/QC processes, ITPs, SWPs, and document control systems
Technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, or building automation and controls

Salary/Rate Range: $70,000 - $80,000
