Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA / AWS DBA to manage, support, and optimize enterprise databases across on-premises and AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle database administration skills along with hands-on experience with AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, Python, and AWS CDK.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, and recovery.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform Oracle performance tuning.
- Manage AWS database services including Amazon RDS for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL.
- Administer and optimize Amazon Redshift environments.
- Develop database infrastructure using AWS CDK with Python or TypeScript.
- Automate database administration and operational tasks using Python and scripting.
- Implement database security, access controls, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Monitor AWS database environments using CloudWatch and other AWS monitoring tools.
- Support database migrations and modernization initiatives from on-premises to AWS.
- Work with development and infrastructure teams to resolve database and application-related issues.
- Prepare and maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- 6–8 years of experience as an Oracle DBA / Database Administrator.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration and performance tuning.
- Experience with AWS RDS – Oracle/PostgreSQL/MSSQL.
- Experience with Amazon Redshift administration and optimization.
- Good knowledge of AWS Cloud services and database architecture.
- Hands-on experience with AWS CDK.
- Strong Python/scripting skills for automation.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, security, patching, and disaster recovery.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
