About the Company

A boutique data and analytics consultancy that helps mid-market and enterprise clients turn scattered data into working infrastructure, reporting, and machine learning. The team builds on modern cloud lakehouse platforms, with Databricks at the core of most engagements.

Consultants here work across several client accounts at once and cover the full analytics stack, from source-system ingestion through to dashboards, models, and lightweight applications.

The Role

This is a hands-on data engineering consultant seat for someone who has built real pipelines in Databricks and wants to step into client delivery. You will own workstreams across multiple engagements, building the backend that clients rely on and walking executives through what the data shows. The right person is a strong engineer first, comfortable in front of a CFO or CTO, and keen to grow into a senior consultant role. The role is based in Toronto, and the team works together in the office 4 to 5 days a week.

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain production pipelines in Databricks that move client data from source systems into a lakehouse structured in bronze, silver, and gold layers
• Shape data models and architecture decisions so client teams can find, trust, and use their data
• Pull together messy, unconnected datasets and turn them into dashboards and analysis that leadership teams actually act on
• Support the training, rollout, and monitoring of machine learning models, and help put access controls and data quality checks in place
• Present findings and recommendations directly to C-suite stakeholders, and prototype new tools and approaches the firm can bring to future clients

What You Bring

• Two or more years of professional data engineering or analytics engineering experience, ideally with a computer science, engineering, or math background
• Proven Databricks experience, including PySpark, Delta Lake, and medallion-style lakehouse design; Databricks certifications are a strong plus
• Strong SQL against relational databases and Python for transformation work
• Experience shipping code on Azure, AWS, or GCP through separate dev, test, and production environments; exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools is a bonus
• Clear communication, the ability to run with work independently, and genuine interest in how clients’ businesses operate

The firm is small enough that you work directly with senior people, get regular code reviews and coaching, and present your own work to client executives. Many of the firm’s current senior consultants, tech leads, and managers were promoted from within, so there is a real path forward for someone who delivers.
