Java Architect

Role Summary:

Seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead / Architect to provide technical leadership and solution architecture for enterprise applications. The role will be responsible for designing scalable solutions, driving application modernization, providing hands-on technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to architecture, security, performance, and coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and technical design for Java-based enterprise applications.

• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable application solutions.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and related technologies.

• Define application architecture, integration patterns, reusable frameworks, and technical standards.

• Lead Java/JDK upgrades, application modernization, and legacy platform transformation initiatives.

• Review existing applications and recommend improvements across architecture, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Conduct design and code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide guidance on root-cause analysis and resolution.

• Collaborate with business, application, infrastructure, security, DevOps, and architecture teams.

• Provide technical estimates and support solution planning and delivery.

• Mentor developers and provide technical direction to onshore/offshore engineering teams.

• Support CI/CD, automated deployments, containerization, and cloud/platform modernization.

• Evaluate technical dependencies and proactively identify architecture and delivery risks.

• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, and technology standards.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java / J2EE

• Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices

• Strong knowledge of design patterns, object-oriented design, and enterprise application architecture

• Experience with application servers/platforms such as JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic, or Open Liberty

• Experience with SQL and relational databases

• Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/event-driven technologies

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, Maven/Gradle

• Exposure to Azure, GCP, or AWS is an advantage

• Strong understanding of API integration, authentication, security, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization

• Experience with Java modernization/migration initiatives is highly desirable

Preferred Experience

• 10+ years of Java/application development experience with significant experience in a Technical Lead or Architect capacity.

• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise applications.

• Banking / Financial Services (BFSI) experience preferred.

• Strong stakeholder communication and technical presentation skills.
