TekStaff's Client has a current vacancy for a Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer( Azure Databricks)
Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for a 12-month contract.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
- Appetite for contributing within a complex and critical environment
- Experience deploying, managing and operating complex applications in a Cloud environment e.g. Azure
- Understanding of shell script, powershell, Python and the ability to code for automation
- Understanding of critical concepts in DevOps (CI, CD, CM, IaC etc) and Agile principles
- Readiness and motivation (as senior or lead developer and valued subject matter expert) to address and resolve highly complex and multifaceted development-related issues, often independently.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience in infrastructure, services and application monitoring and logging
- Configuring and managing big data technologies / databases and understanding of various approaches to data storage and indexing is an asset
Must-have:
o Cloud experience e.g. Azure Services including IaaS, IaC, ASP
o Databricks experience
o Configuration management tools e.g. SALT, terraform, Ansible or CHEF
o Development/Engineering experience e.g. Powershell, Bash, Shell, Python
o Jenkins, Github, Bitbucket, Nexus or similar toolsets

Responsibilities
Deploy, manage, and operate complex applications and cloud infrastructure, particularly in Azure and Databricks environments. Automate development and infrastructure processes, monitor and troubleshoot services and applications, and independently resolve complex engineering issues.
Requirements
Requires experience with Azure cloud services, Databricks, configuration management tools, scripting or programming for automation, and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, or Nexus. Candidates should understand DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, configuration management, infrastructure as code, and Agile principles; monitoring, logging, and big data experience are also relevant.
