TekStaff's Client has a current vacancy for a Java Team Lead
This is a 3 month contract located in Toronto, ON/ Hybrid (3 days in-office (will increase to 4 days in future)
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
7+ years of experience as a senior Delivery Lead
Must have 3+ years of software engineering (full stack – Java and Spring boot) experience with object-oriented programming & scripting languages.
Strong technical background (i.e. ability to read code, provide feedback, knowledge of software design patterns).
Working experience in an Agile environment.
Must have technical hands-on experience with SOAP / Rest Services.
Must have technical working knowledge of User Experience best practices.
Must have technical working experience with cloud-based applications, awareness of main public cloud offerings (Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) and how Pivotal Cloud Foundry is best suited for deployments across these.
Must understand the software release process (environments, binary repositories, CI/CD).
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- 3-5 years of banking/financial industry experience is an asset.
- Hands-on technical working experience in modernizing legacy systems or similar transformational initiatives is a strong preference.
- Working experience in building globally scalable financial products
- Working experience in defining current and future state for products and the associated roadmaps.

Responsibilities
Lead software delivery and provide technical guidance, including reviewing code and advising on software design. Support cloud-based application deployments and the software release process, including environments, binary repositories, and CI/CD.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least seven years of senior delivery leadership experience and at least three years of full-stack software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot. They must also have hands-on experience with SOAP or REST services, Agile practices, cloud-based applications, user experience best practices, and software release processes.
