Description

Seeking a Full Stack Developer to serve as the technical lead for a critical servicing and renewals technology pod. This role combines hands-on software development, technical leadership, production application ownership, compliance delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will lead a small pod consisting of one onshore lead (this role) and one offshore developer, supporting business-critical applications while driving operational efficiencies, automation, and engineering excellence. This is an ideal opportunity for a engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, improving existing systems, and influencing how technology teams operate at scale.

What You'll Do

Lead a two-person engineering pod consisting of an onshore technical lead (this role) and an offshore developer.
Develop, maintain, and enhance Java/Spring and Angular-based applications supporting servicing and renewals platforms.
Provide ownership of KTLO (Keep the Lights On) activities, including application support, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution.
Deliver compliance, security, and regulatory-driven enhancements.
Remediate vulnerabilities, upgrade platforms, and manage dependency updates.
Collaborate with offshore resources to plan, prioritize, and deliver sprint commitments.
Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operational effort and improve engineering efficiency.
Support ongoing modernization efforts, including migration of MuleSoft-based services to Spring-based architectures.
Leverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve developer productivity and software quality.
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
Balance short-term delivery requirements with long-term technical improvements.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
5+ years of experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
5+ years of experience with Angular development.
Experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade web applications.
Experience working in production support, application maintenance, and BAU environments.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Experience leading technical initiatives or coordinating work across development teams.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to decompose complex problems and deliver pragmatic solutions.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is more than a software developer. We are looking for an engineering leader who:
Takes ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
Enjoys modernizing and improving existing systems.
Thinks strategically while delivering incrementally.
Can identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement.
Is comfortable leading technical delivery and coordinating with offshore team members.
Approaches problems methodically and understands both tactical and long-term impacts of technical decisions.
Embraces AI-powered development practices and modern engineering methodologies.
