Description

This is a build role. You will own the process and the mechanisms the whole product organization runs on, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer.

What you will do

Own our product development process end to end stage gates, entry and exit criteria, templates, and the governance that keeps it credible. Drive adoption across engineering, operations, quality, marketing, sales, services, finance, legal, and support.

Build and run the reporting rhythm for the portfolio the single view of program health, launch status, and product performance that executive leadership and our board use to make decisions.

Provide functional leadership to product commercialization managers across our business lines, setting shared standards for critical path planning, launch readiness, and cross-functional coordination.

Establish a single source of truth for roadmaps, product data, and launch status that leaders trust and use.

Lead portfolio lifecycle management a consistent framework for managing products from introduction through platform transitions and beyond.

Run the intake and prioritization mechanics that let product leaders make clear, evidenced decisions. You own the process and the quality of the inputs; business cases and roadmap calls stay with the product leadership team.

Partner closely with the engineering program office, pricing and analytics, user experience, and technical documentation so the organization runs one coherent operating model rather than several competing ones.

What success looks like

Twelve months in: the product development process is applied consistently on every active program. Executive and board reporting comes from one source and takes hours to assemble rather than weeks. Every product in the portfolio has a documented lifecycle status and a named owner. Launch commitments are met more often, and when a date is at risk, it is visible early enough to do something about it.

What you will bring

Seven or more years in product operations, product management, or technical program management, including time in a role where you built the process rather than inherited it.

Direct experience with a formal stage-gate or new product introduction process in a business that ships both hardware and software. You understand why a certification dependency or a component lifecycle decision belongs on a critical path, and what it costs when it is missed.

A track record of getting functions you do not manage to meet their commitments. This role carries broad influence and no direct authority over the teams it depends on.

Fluency with the tools product organizations actually run on roadmap and work management platforms, and the reporting layer built on top of them.

Clear, economical writing. A large part of this job is making complex portfolio decisions legible to executives in a page or less.

Comfort in a multi-brand, multi-geography environment where products, teams, and systems have arrived from different places.

Helpful, not required

Physical security, access control, building systems, or industrial technology.

Experience in a private equity backed business, or integrating acquired product lines.

Exposure to product certification and regulatory regimes UL, EN, CE and UKCA, FIPS, or emerging cybersecurity requirements for connected products.

How we work

Calm, clear, and direct. We would rather fix a process than work around it, and we would rather hear about a problem early than a reassurance late. We value progress over perfection and we expect people to say what they think.
