You'll join TELUS Health's Drug Operations team, a mission-critical group responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Canada's pharmacy benefit management systems. As a Business Analyst II, you'll ensure that Health Canada-approved drugs, formularies, and DIN-based lists are current and precise, directly impacting how millions of Canadians access their medications. You'll thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and analytical thinking drive real healthcare outcomes.
What you'll do
- Maintain flawless database accuracy by adding, updating, and validating drug information for Health Canada-approved products and provincial PINs in the TELUS system, using both database UI entry and SQL queries to prevent claim processing errors
- Master and manage PBM claim adjudication data structures by creating and maintaining formularies, price files, categorization rules, and list management to ensure smooth claim processing across pharmacy networks
- Establish standardized business process documentation that captures workflows, decision trees, and system requirements while ensuring consistency across the Drug Operations team
- Provide expert, timely responses to complex drug pricing, plan coverage, and formulary inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders, meeting established SLAs while maintaining comprehensive documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pharmacy operations, compliance, and system administrators to implement updates, troubleshoot claim adjudication issues, and optimize data quality processes
Qualifications
What you bring
- Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience with demonstrated knowledge of claim adjudication principles, formulary management, and pharmacy benefit systems
- 1–3 years of experience in a comparable business analyst, pharmacy operations, or drug information role
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, formula development) for managing and analyzing formulary and pricing data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to document complex business processes clearly and concisely
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing requirements
- Working knowledge of SQL or database query tools for data retrieval and validation
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy in a regulated healthcare environment
Great-to-haves
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, with ability to communicate complex drug information in both languages
- Post-secondary diploma or certification in pharmacy, healthcare administration, or a related field
- Experience with TELUS Health systems or other pharmacy benefit management platforms
