Compensation: $24.33 per hour

Overview:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Leadhand is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse logistics. They are responsible for transporting furniture, appliances, electronics, and other items safely and timely between the warehouse and specified locations. Operating various types of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, is a key aspect of the role.

Additionally, the Warehouse Leadhand will assist in loading and unloading shipments, verifying inventory, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries and pickups. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a focus on safety are essential qualities for success in this position. Excellent communication skills are also crucial for coordinating with other warehouse staff to ensure seamless operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Leadhand is responsible for:

• Receiving and warehouse storage of product
• Pick and stage product for outbound shuttles and deliveries
• Problem solving under tight deadlines
• Demonstrate leadership in relation to health and safety
• Support the supervisory team in motivating and guiding team members
• Provide professional customer purchase carry-out service
• Assemble various furniture products in the warehouse
• Ability to (or be trained to) operate a lift truck/order picker
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Good attendance record, reliability and maturity
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift 120lbs repetitively and work at heights
• Great organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Must possess a valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
