Senior QA Engineer- ETL & API

Role Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Senior QA Engineer with strong functional and automated API testing capabilities, coupled with expertise in data validation, ETL processes, and Master Data Management (MDM). The role will own test design and execution, develop sustainable regression automation suites, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate can validate complex microservices and data flows while collaborating closely with engineering and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, negative, boundary, and regression tests for RESTful APIs and associated business workflows.
• Build, enhance, and maintain reusable API test automation frameworks and regression suites using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
• Integrate automated testing into GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent CI/CD pipelines; investigate failures and improve test reliability.
• Validate microservices, asynchronous and event-driven integrations, listeners, message processing, data synchronization, and end-to-end data integrity.
• Verify JSON request/response payloads, schemas, field mappings, status codes, error handling, and backend records using SQL.
• Perform data and ETL testing, including source-to-target reconciliation, mappings, transformations, migrations, duplicate/missing record checks, and data-quality controls.
• Test MDM processes including matching and merging, survivorship rules, golden records, master data hierarchies, and duplicate detection.
• Prepare test strategies, scenarios, cases, test data, evidence, and requirements traceability; document defects, investigate root causes, and manage resolution in Jira or similar tools.
• Partner with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders throughout Agile/Scrum delivery cycles.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software quality engineering experience, with approximately 3–5 years of hands-on REST API testing across the test lifecycle.
• Proven manual and automated API testing using Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or comparable tools.
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining API automation frameworks and integrating regression tests with CI/CD.
• Strong SQL and backend data validation skills, including data comparison, reconciliation, duplicate detection, and source-to-target checks.
• Practical experience with functional, integration, regression, data/ETL, and end-to-end testing.
• Working understanding of MDM concepts: master records, hierarchies, match-and-merge, survivorship, golden records, and data quality.
• Experience testing microservices, asynchronous/event-driven systems, JSON payloads, schema validation, and error scenarios.
• Strong defect management, test documentation, analytical thinking, and communication skills within Agile teams
