Job Title: Front-End (React) Lead Developer

Location :: Canada

Required Technical Skills

React.js and JavaScript

• Strong hands-on experience with React.js, functional components, and React Hooks.
• Excellent knowledge of JavaScript ES6+ and TypeScript.
• Understanding of component lifecycle, reconciliation, rendering behavior, and React internals.
• Experience building reusable components, custom hooks, and shared UI libraries.
• Knowledge of routing using React Router or equivalent libraries.

State Management

• Experience with Redux Toolkit, Redux, Context API, Zustand, or similar solutions.
• Understanding of state normalization, asynchronous actions, and API data caching.
• Experience managing complex application state and data flows.

UI Development

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, Grid, and responsive web design.
• Experience with CSS Modules, Sass, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or similar UI frameworks.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, semantic HTML, and WCAG guidelines.
• Ability to translate Figma or other design mockups into production-ready interfaces.

API Integration and Security

• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling asynchronous requests.
• Knowledge of HTTP, JSON, error handling, and API authentication.
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT-based authentication.
• Awareness of frontend security risks such as XSS and CSRF.

Testing and Code Quality

• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Vitest, or Cypress.
• Knowledge of unit, integration, component, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with ESLint, Prettier, SonarQube, and code-quality standards.

Performance and Build Tools

• Experience with Vite, Webpack, npm, or Yarn.
• Knowledge of code splitting, lazy loading, memoization, and bundle analysis.
• Experience profiling and optimizing frontend performance using browser developer tools.
• Understanding of Core Web Vitals and browser rendering performance.

DevOps and Deployment

• Experience with Git and pull-request workflows.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms, and frontend deployment environments.

Technical Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead frontend architecture and make technical decisions aligned with business requirements.
• Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and technical assessments.
• Break down requirements into technical tasks and provide effort estimates.
• Mentor team members and establish coding standards.
• Identify technical debt and drive refactoring and modernization initiatives.
• Coordinate with backend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Take ownership of release quality, production stability, and frontend technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Experience building enterprise-scale React applications.
• Experience with Next.js, server-side rendering, or static site generation.
• Knowledge of micro-frontends and frontend monorepo architecture.
• Experience developing design systems and shared component libraries.
• Exposure to GraphQL, WebSockets, and real-time applications.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and distributed development teams.
