Tetra Digital Group is Canada's leading institutional digital asset infrastructure provider, and right now, we're at an inflection point five years in the making.
As Canada's first and only regulated digital asset custodian, we've built the institutional foundation the market now demands. We're backed by Urbana Corporation, National Bank, ATB Financial, Wealthsimple, Purpose Unlimited, Shakepay, Shopify, and Coinbase Ventures - some of the most consequential names in Canadian finance and fintech.
We operate two interconnected businesses: Tetra Trust, our regulated custody arm and CADD, a compliant on-chain payment rail backed 1:1 by Canadian dollars.
In May 2026, we launched CADD - Canada's first CAD-backed stablecoin issued by a regulated financial institution - following approval from Alberta Treasury Board and Finance. It's live on Base, Ethereum, and Tempo today, with Solana next. CoinDesk and BNN Bloomberg covered it as the arrival of Canada's first regulated digital dollar. 🚀
Here's the problem we're actually solving: Canada clears roughly $424 billion every business day, and much of the retail payment infrastructure underneath it was designed in the 1980s. Batch windows. Cut-off times. Weekends off. We're the team replacing that with rails that settle continuously, programmatically, and under real regulatory oversight.
We're a team of under 30. The infrastructure we've built punches well above that number, and so does the opportunity ahead.
The Role 🛠️
You’re a seasoned compliance professional with strong judgment, high integrity, and a pragmatic approach to regulation. You thrive in regulated environments where expectations are high and precision matters. You’re equally comfortable executing day-to-day compliance activities and stepping back to assess risk, controls, and program effectiveness.
You bring hands-on experience with AML programs and a strong understanding of digital assets, transaction monitoring, and financial crime risks in emerging technologies. You enjoy being close to the work, partnering with operations, technology, and leadership to ensure compliance is embedded into business processes - not bolted on.
Detail-oriented, accountable, and calm under pressure, you’re motivated by building and maintaining strong compliance foundations in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape. You’re excited to work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, take ownership of core compliance functions, and play a meaningful role in a regulated crypto business scaling responsibly in Canada.
What You’ll Own 🎯
AML / ATF Program Management
- Support and maintain the AML/ATF program in accordance with FINTRAC requirements and applicable provincial and federal regulations.
- Oversee and assess compliance reports, and escalations, including large virtual currency reports, travel rule, and suspicious transaction reporting where applicable.
- Coordinate periodic AML effectiveness reviews, testing, and remediation efforts.
Transaction Monitoring and Analysis
- Trace on-chain and off-chain transactions using blockchain analytics tool, Elliptic
- Review automated flags for high velocity, unusual volume, or suspicious patterns
- Oversee eco-system monitoring platform, control tuning and adjust risk parameters to reduce false positives and improve detection rules
Policies, Procedures & Controls
- Maintain and update AML / ATF compliance policies, procedures, and internal frameworks to reflect regulatory expectations and internal business changes
- Ensure policies are operationalized and understood by relevant teams.
- Assist with the development and execution of compliance training programs.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Operations, Technology, Treasury, and Product teams to identify compliance risks and design practical controls.
- Support vendor due diligence and third-party risk management activities.
- Contribute to building scalable compliance processes as the business grows.
What We're Looking For 🔍
Experience
- 1-3+ years of progressive experience in compliance, AML, or financial crime roles within the digital asset industry
- Experience with digital asset monitoring using blockchain analytics tools like Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM
- Familiarity with crypto analytics platforms (eco-system monitoring) or dashboard building
- Direct experience managing or supporting a Compliance or AML/ATF program subject to Canadian financial service regulation (e.g., FINTRAC, RPAA, or OSFI)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Canadian AML/ATF requirements, including KYC, client risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, and reporting obligations.
- Solid grasp of compliance risks associated with digital assets, wallets, custody models, and blockchain-based transactions.
- Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into clear, operational processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting policies, procedures, and management reporting.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment with a hands-on mindset.

A Note on Fit 🧭
Tetra moves fast and the expectations are high. We're not a place that slows down to accommodate bureaucracy or process for its own sake. But we're also a licensed trust company, and some things genuinely cannot break. In compliance, holding both of those at once is the actual skill. That means building controls that are practical and proportionate, while making sure our obligations never slip.
Some honest specifics, because you'll ask in the interview anyway and we'd rather answer now:
- You'll be close to the work. This is a hands-on role on a small team. You'll trace wallets in Elliptic, clear alerts, tune detection rules, and draft reports and policies yourself, not just review someone else's.
- The rulebook is still being written. Digital asset regulation in Canada is evolving quickly, and guidance won't always map neatly onto a new product like CADD. You'll often need to interpret the rules, make a defensible call alongside the CCO, and document why.
- Some deadlines aren't ours to move. When a suspicious transaction surfaces or a reporting obligation is triggered, it takes priority over everything else on your plate. Crypto doesn't close on weekends, and occasionally an escalation won't either.
- "No" is never the whole answer. You'll push back when something doesn't meet the bar, then work with Operations, Product, and Treasury to find the version that does.
If you're looking for a mature program where every procedure is already written and every scenario already mapped, this isn't the right fit. But if you see a gap in a control and close it, can stand behind a judgment call in front of an auditor or regulator, and take real ownership of outcomes, this role was built for you.
