Your Role
- Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and industry standards, engineering formulas, and experience.
- Provide construction support including review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, etc.
- Produce sketches to be incorporated in models/drawings by designers/drafters.
- Develop construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
- Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
- Work with lead engineers to scope out projects and establish project objectives.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, etc.
- Develop engineering estimates and assist with proposal development.
- Manage discipline schedules and deliverables.
- May serve as Project Engineer and as a designated client contact on smaller, less complex projects.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5-9 years of design experience in EPC or consulting industry preferred.
- Active P.Eng. status in British Columbia and/or Alberta.
- Be familiar with structural analysis software SFrame, STAAD, RISA, SAP2000.
- Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices.
- Experience with site grading and roadway design is an asset for this position.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive client and project team relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications.
- Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 per year. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
