Company Description

Tetranex Solutions is an Alberta-based, full-discipline engineering and procurement company focused on client service and quality execution. Headquartered in Calgary, with additional offices in Grande Prairie and Lethbridge, Tetranex has built a strong reputation for delivering outstanding engineering and procurement services while maintaining lasting relationships with our clients. With extensive experience across a variety of industries, our team has a proven track record of adapting to our clients' unique needs and project requirements.

As an Englobe company, Tetranex combines the agility and client-focused approach of a local engineering firm with the strength and resources of one of Canada's leading engineering and environmental services organizations.

With a mission statement of "People Focused, Quality Driven," Tetranex understands that the key to building a successful and reputable company lies with the people who work within it. Our workplace offers an enjoyable atmosphere supported by an intentional commitment to work-life balance. Combined with an open-door policy, regardless of experience or role, Tetranex fosters a collaborative "think tank" environment where mentorship, innovation, and continuous learning are encouraged.

Our goal is to grow as industry leaders. To achieve that goal, Tetranex seeks to employ people who share our commitment to quality, collaboration, and exceptional client service.

Position Description

Tetranex is seeking a full-time Electrical Lead (Engineering) to join our growing electrical team. This role is suited to an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, collaboration with other senior engineers, and taking ownership of electrical engineering scopes across multiple projects.

Working alongside a team of experienced electrical engineers and reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership on assigned projects, coordinating electrical deliverables, guiding engineering and design resources, and ensuring high-quality technical outcomes. Depending on project requirements, you may take on the role of Electrical Technical Lead, serving as the primary technical lead for the electrical scope while collaborating closely with Project Managers and other engineering disciplines.

This is an opportunity to contribute your technical expertise, take on project-specific leadership responsibilities, and work within a collaborative team that values quality, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor electrical engineers and designers in delivering electrical engineering scopes across multiple projects, from design through completion.
Plan and coordinate electrical engineering deliverables, resource requirements, schedules, man-hour budgets, and progress reporting across assigned projects.
Develop electrical scopes of work, man-hour estimates, technical proposals, and engineering execution plans.
Provide technical leadership and ensure electrical designs meet project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and quality requirements.
Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and manage changes to the electrical scope.
Participate in project status meetings with clients, Project Managers, and suppliers to communicate electrical scope progress, priorities, and technical issues.
Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, equipment specifications, vendor submissions, and other engineering deliverables.
Oversee electrical system studies, including load calculations, voltage drop, cable tray fill, electric heat tracing (EHT), and ETAP/SKM analyses.
Prepare and review material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and engineering work packages for electrical equipment.
Ensure electrical engineering deliverables comply with Tetranex’s Quality Management program, client specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support construction activities, site visits, and professional authentication of engineering documents as required.

Requirements

An Electrical Engineering Degree with 10 or more years of progressive electrical engineering and design experience, preferably in the energy industry.
Registered professional engineer with APEGA (Alberta). Registration in other provinces such as British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba would be an asset but not a requirement.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering design practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with electrical design calculations, equipment specifications, technical evaluations, and engineering software such as ETAP or SKM.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and time-management abilities.
Self-motivated, efficient, and capable of managing competing priorities.

Tetranex Benefits

The Tetranex experience offers a number of benefits to aid in the facilitation of a great working environment for all resources, some of which include:

Challenging large- and small-scale projects varying in scope, duration and application.
Resource involvement in multiple facets of all projects as Tetranex believes growth is truly optimized when individuals are exposed to and understand the “bigger picture".
Flexible work hours to cater to commuting and scheduling needs.
Regular company-wide social events.
Mentorship program and interactive employee growth development planning.
Semi-annual performance reviews focused on career path development and alignment of training opportunities.
Competitive salaries.
Full benefit program.
RRSP matching contribution program.
Employee operated Social Club.
A smaller company “feel” that adopts an enjoyable company culture allowing opportunities and flexibility for employees to get their feet wet in multiple areas.

If what Tetranex offers appeals to what you are looking for and you have the required experience outlined above, we look forward to reviewing your application.
